Stage 1 Report

The race opens with a 20k flat team time trial in Bilbao.

The stage favorites are Indosat, UBS and Minions. Last year JURA won this stage on the way to delivering Masnada to 2nd on GC. Masnadaâ€™s Kraftwerk team skipping the race this year.

Trans the first team to start. Last year Calmejane won them the points jersey. Nobody of that quality on the roster this year.

Fabbro on the front for Air New Zealand. He has good skills for this race but needs to limit his losses in the time trialing stages.

Minions are the first of the favorites to start. They are the third to reach the time check and they are 31 seconds up on Trans and 38 seconds up on Air New Zealand.

Another CT team is next on the course â€“ Ethiopian Airlines, they are 22 seconds down in 2nd at the time check. But they have just dropped 3 riders.
