The Race


The organizer’s favourites consist of a variety of sprinters with different combinations of flat and sprint skills. The most surprising aspect is that neither pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/eus.png Carsi nor pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/sct.png Zariff are amongst them.

The gap went up to about 5 minutes and is now – very slowly – decreasing. It’s still 145 km to go, but the peloton will have to be attentive later in the race to really make the catch in time.

We skipped some hours of racing where nothing happened at all. The riders are already on the final circuit and still have 3 laps to go (we didn’t skip that far). The gap of the break is down to a minute.

The catch is made with 15 km to go, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/snz.png Thompson was the last one resisting. The initial catch wasn’t made by the peloton though but by three attackers. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/spz.png Dzamastagic, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/bbm.png Arashiro and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/isa.png Andersen got some seconds, but they still look very much in reach for the peloton.

The attack is shut down with 8 km to go.
