7.8km Prologue

The favorites list for stage 1 goes to Ganna who is by far the best prologue rider in the field. Wirtgen, Herregodts and Wurtz will surely battle it out up from as well. The road goes uphill toward the 2nd half, so hill prowess should make a difference here.

We pick up the racing with Stash who pretty much concludes the first round of riders off. Heâ€™s strong in the prologue, but not in the hills. That balance doesnâ€™t do him well as his time is well behind the current leader already 39 seconds back â€“ which is Vanderpool from Podium Ambition. The Caribbean rider sets a time of 10:52 which holds up through everyoneâ€™s first rider. Vandevelde and Senni are 2nd and 3rd at this point, 6 and 7 seconds back.

Turek shows off the colors of Moser-Sygic to start the 2nd round and itâ€™s a great time for him. Sadly not the lead, but 10:53 is a good start for sure.

Perez is the next strong competitor showing that Podium Ambition is here to fight for good results today. Itâ€™s just 3rd for now at 10:56.

Kiriakidis is another strong challenger for today. He powers all the way to the line and sets the new best time! Itâ€™s a new best time for Elco-ABEA with 10:47 for the Greek.

Kung is a TT powerhouse on the short and long solo efforts, and is looking to take over the top spot. A great time for the Swiss, but itâ€™s just 2nd for him now. 10:51 is still a top time, but not enough for the top spot.

Tanfield is another strongman on the solo efforts and ready to fly the flag for EA Vesuvio. Itâ€™s a great training ride to pass into to Wirtgen as Tanfield slots into 2nd at 10:48.

Van Baarle passes through the finishing line shortly after with a similarly strong time. A new 3rd place at 10:50 for Van Baarle. Kiriakidis still the leader at 10:47.

Now itâ€™s Ioannidis taking over for Elco-ABEA, trying to go 1-2 with the Ioannidis name. (Itâ€™s Kiriakidisâ€™ first name). He should be even better on the long TT on stage 3, so this is also a positioning attempt for the GC. He betters his teammate with a 10:45

But right before, the cameras miss a NEW BEST TIME! Paillot comes through with a quick attempt at 10:43 and could hold this top time for a while.

Mullen could be one of the best shots at a win, especially on stage 3. And it is a great time to take over the lead 10:39! A great effort!

Christapopoulos is another member of the Elco-ABEA TT squad and jumps into 5th place at 10:46. Thatâ€™s 7 seconds back but a strong result nonetheless.

Sajnok is another strong contender for the day. He comes in at 10:47 which is now 8th as Onodera has jumped into 5th place.

Lammertink should also compete for the stage result as the Dutch champion. It was a fantastic result as he slots into 2nd place at 10:40.

McNulty is a GC threat for the full tour and shouldnâ€™t contest today. Just kidding, he goes into 5th, now at 10:45 for 6 seconds. A fantastic ride.

Munton represents another strong rider for EA Vesuvio, who really do have an excess of riches in the TT department. Itâ€™s 5th place currently at 10:44. Mullen still leads 10:39.â€ƒ

Cedevita could also be going for the team title here as Geoghegan Hart approaches the line. He should be ready for a strong GC result as well. Another new 5th place at 10:44.

Mano will prefer the final stage over today, but heâ€™ll succeed today as well. Almost into the top spot at 10:40 in 2nd. Just 1 second back, but a very strong result today.

Cosnefroy shouldnâ€™t quite challenge at the top today, but heâ€™s got the type of skills to find a surprise top 5. Itâ€™s not quite that but just 7 seconds back and good for 12th. The slots from 5th to 17th are all very close.

Herregodts appears ready to take down the top time and set the standard for Ganna still to come. King Power showing their strength for the team title as well but can only go 8th and 6 seconds back at 10:45. Just wasnâ€™t his day.

Bjerg will want the top step of the podium today to represent the Minions. Not quite, but 4th in 10:42 is a fantastic time.

All eyes are on Ganna now before the top race favorites start off shortly. He gets out of the saddle coming up the finishing climb and setsâ€¦ the NEW BEST TIME! 10:38 it is, just less than a second better than Mullen.

Christodoulos shouldnâ€™t contest the day, but will give Cedevita a shot at the Team result as well. 10th place at 10:45 is another very strong time.

Leknessund might be one of the surprise riders of the day if he can pull together a top time. Gazelle hasnâ€™t had quite the best results today but he makes up for it in 8th place, just 6 seconds back at 10:44. A fantastic ride.

Dunbar will favor stage 3 over todayâ€¦ youâ€™d think, but he puts in the best time by far! 10:32 demolishes the competition so far today! What a ride!

Wirtgen is one of the final riders who can challenge on the day and challenge he does! 10:25 is the new best time and itâ€™s clear that the hill has made this a longer effort and benefit the strong longer time trialists. Wow, speechless after that ride!

The last rider to be a true contender is the World Champion Wurtz. Showcasing the rainbow bands, he canâ€™t challenge in the same way but slots into 2nd. 10:30 is the time to just beat Dunbar.

For GC favorites, Pogacar wants to get as much time as possible. 24 seconds down on Wirtgen is not what he was hoping for.

Haig comes in next and expects to lose time as well. Just 20 seconds down for him at 10:45, which wouldâ€™ve sounded a lot closer earlier in the day.

Bernal is the last rider on the day and does very well for himself! Itâ€™s actually the 4th best time at 10:36 to be just 11 seconds down. Thereâ€™s a reason the organizers gave him Bib#1 and he showed it with that ride.

Wirtgen steps atop the podium for every jersey heâ€™s eligible! Leknessund into the white jersey and EA Vesuvio into the team lead as Wirtgenâ€™s time is simply insurmountable for other teams to cover.
