As part of my life, I was, unfortunately, away for most of Eurosports coverage of last year's classics/races. This in turn, resulted in my parents recording what they could for me (and what they could manage due to Eurosports dodgy timings). So, basically, I have some races from 2008 on DVD that I am currently ripping into .avi files. I plan to upload them, and share them to all who care, and will post the download links here. Feel free to download them, or upload your own if you find any. I shall keep this first post updated with what I manage to put online.
Currently I am uploading Milan San Remo. It will likely be in 4 parts for download from Rapidshare.
n.b. You will require WinRar to get the .avi file in these downloads. You will also require the DivX codec for a media player or a program like VLC Media Player to play these files.
All files need to be downloaded to view the entire race, but it is possible to open bit by bit.

It also has to be said that the quality of video is definately not the best. But that's what you get for saving to Sky, then DVD, then ripping, then compressing. I shall not compress the others (makes them 300mb bigger) and see if that makes a difference in picture quality - it should obviously.

Part 1 is taking a long time, and then there are 3 more after that for just 1 hour... The good news is that I'm back down in fast-internet home tomorrow so will be able to upload things within an hour.

Good idea, but is it really a good idea to upload them to Rapidshare? AFAIK you have to wait 30 (or something like that) minutes between each download you make unless you have some sort of subscription, and unless you decide to watch one part of the vid while waiting for the next...

Just to note, it will take those without a premium account on Rapidshare (on a 200kb/sec download speed) about 15 minutes to download each file, and 15 minutes to wait before you can download another file from rapidshare. Patience is, unfortunately, required. But using Rapid is one of the ways of ensuring the file remains "alive" online.
I use Rapidshare because that's the one I use. I have a premium account and so I can store my files in safety. It's unfortunate that "free users" can only download one file every 15 minutes, but it's the best I can, and am willing, to do. So sorry.

Merci rjc
When I get my 90s Giros recordings back I'll see about uploading them here, if anyone's interested
Of these, I'm most interested in Flèche, as I missed that one

Thats ok, I've had the idea for a while to do it, but just not the where-with-all to be able to. Now I can. I'm interesting in the Giro recordings, very much so, I loooove the Giro
I'll do Fleche next then
EDIT: MSR Part 2 on the upload... another 2 hours to go

I'll call to have my friend bring them whenever he's back in the country then
Each DVD is Giro highlights (3-6 hours, depending on the DVD) from the 93-98 Giros.

MSR Part 1 is up and listed. I'd personally recommend waiting for all parts to be available before attempting to watch as only 2 parts are going to be available tonight, but it's upto you. Obviously downloading now speeds up the consecutive downloads as there is no waiting time for you.
I'm making no comments towards the quality of the video, but the audio is spot on!

So are you uploading highlights or the whole thing?
Also, mind if I join in too? Ive got various Cycling race videos, the majority from the Olympics and Tour de France this year.
Here is the BBC coverage of the Men's Olympic Road Race - 55 minute highlights: https://files.filefront.com/MensOlympi...einfo.html |

I'm uploading what I've got. So for MSR it's an hour of the highlights from Eurosport. So it's got all the action in basically. The other races I'm pretty sure are in the same format - the hour or so Eurosport showed of the highlights, which, are better than nought.
And feel free to share whatcha got. I'll edit them into the first post.

i can get it all on the PC, the sky channels, i don't have a dvd recorder so it;s a case of recording the stream of the internet. Now to find out how to do that. (and i might buy something to let me, i've always wanted to, so i don't mind doing it)
