Well, there are most likely a few other threads somewhere on the forums about this subject, but well, I guess im lazy
Now, since I simply dont understand it fully, im gonna ask myself..
How is the potential "system" working in PCM08 ? For example, I have Andy Schleck with a potential of 8, but his potential value is already at his max. Same thing with alot of the other upcoming stars, like Boassen Hagen, Lars Boom etc.
I heard a few things about some of the riders starting to develop once they get a few years older..? But since they are already at their max potential value when looking in the DB/Save Game, I just find this hard to believe.
I also wonder about what does precisely the "potential" value mean...
CLE-Editor allows you to edit the rider's potential, but also his "incremental" points, which means that, even though you might assign the rider maximum potential value -8-, he'd still be locked in his current stats if you didn't assign him any incremental points.
You can make a new Roger de Vlaeminck out of the best hopeful in the game, Lars Boom, but there are other riders, with a lesser potential value, who can through an explosive development as well, such as EBH, John Devine, etc. While I was coaching Quickstep, I once signed a young rider named Julien Vermote which in a few years went really through the roof: all of his stats, but for sprinting, went over 80!
So I guess that those incremental points are way more important than the "potential" value.
A rider have a maximum limit inwhat stats he can reach in each skill. You can edit it in Hannes Converter. I can gladly edit your savegame if you upload it here.

The problem is not the max in every skill. Take Andy Schleck in my game for example. His max TT is 79 and he is currently at 73. His overall potential is 391 I think when I start the game.. However, his max overall is also 391, so he will never improve in any skill. This is the problem with many of the young riders. Even Gesink is already at his overall max in a new career. I dont really see Gesink as a rider that wont improve beyond the 79 MO
So unless the overall max potential value increase over the years, the rider will never improve, so that basicly my question: Does the max overall value change over the years?
Using the new PCM Daily db btw.

I've never had that kind of problem before. For me, it works perfectly well just to edit the max-skill value, I don't have to edit other things.
Yea well, thats why I have this idea that it might change over the years.. The overall max value that is. Seems wierd that Gustav Larsson were to have a higher overall value than Schleck
