I removed my account last September. It had been there for six months or something.
I didn't have that many FB friends, but they were still too many. 30 or something. Maybe I have a problem with the word "friend" though. Among them, only a couple could be considered my friends IRL. The other ones were merely knowledges from the past. People who wouldn't care if I lived or died actually. In the end facebook didn't bring any new people or bring back people from the past. I'm not hanging around with more people today than yesterday, at least not thanks to FB. FB was... like an illusion of my social life. I don't like illusions, reality is interesting enough.
Then... It's not only people you've always been in good terms with that are there. When you start blocking people as soon as you notice they've gotten friends with somebody in your contacts list, maybe it's not worth keep it going.
I may activate my acount one day again though, but it was definitely not how I wished it was (not that I was wishing for anything particular). |

I guess you mean the facebook staff - and ofcourse they can. It's like that everywhere. A webmaster wants to know, what is going on, on his site (to avoid unwanted things like childporn). If i wanted to, I'm able to read your PM's here on 'Daily too.

As long as you don't have anything to hide then it doesn't matter, in my opinion

Blame yourself if something you wanted to remain confidential became public information after you decided to put it online. |

No, but facebook is a social network, so every thing you put there is more or less public. It's not like registering on the government website to pay your taxes. |
