For those of you in Britain, there are a few cyclists up for this award this year (it's on BBC1 right now):
Nicole Cooke
Chris Hoy
Bradley Wiggins
Robecca Romero
I really think Cooke or Hoy deserve to win rather than Lewis Hamilton. Surely it's more of an achievement to win Olympic and World Championship Gold than to win F1? |

My vote goes to hoy. He and Romero were the ones who deserved their titles and totally outclassed the opposition. The others just hung on grimly (Cooke) or lucked into it (Hamilton).
It's a bit stupid if Hoy doesn't win it, I think

Nah. Since in F1 you have to be best in 18races but in cycling WC and Olympics you just need 1 or 2 good days.
But Hamilton dont deserve it! He is no good!

Ah, but over 18 races Lewis had the chance to c*ck it up a few times. Nicole had no room for error at all.
And Issoisso - isn't hanging on grimly what it's all about?
Know what you mean about Hoy though -he absolutely destroyed everyone he raced against. |

Well, I guess the point is how you measured up to your opponents. Cooke barely won, Hoy annihilated.

Fantastic, great for Hoy who was the most deserving in my mind. Also the British track cycling team picking up the team award and Brailsford winning the Coack of the year. All awards deserved and it's nice that Britains track cyclists have finally got the recognition they deserve. |

Hoy. Well deserved. It couldn't have gone to a better person. He deserved it more than anyone. Ever. 12 years of hard work. The ups and downs all he has sacrificed. 3 Olympic golds. Who can argue with that and say that anything is better. Hoy is literally... The Best. |

Im very pleased that Hoy won it! The Top 3 of Hoy/Hamilton/Adlington was very predictable, and Im so glad it is Hoy that won and not Hamilton. He certainly deserved it the most |

My mum thought it would be Adlington-Hamilton-Hoy in that order. |

I voted 13 times.
It wasn't just Hoy that won something for cycling. Brailsford won coach of the year. And British Cycling team won team of the year. |

Unfortunately it got cancelled due to bad weather conditions overnight left the track conditions in too dangerous a condition for Hoy to be able to go full blast.
