Road Race
With Sauber Petronas failing to attend, the 14-strong cohort from San Marino is very nearly bisected. Colombini have brought six, with Samuele MENICUCCI and Michael ANTONELLI the remaining two. Looking to force the opposition to work, Antonio TIBERI launched an attack with just over 30 kilometres remaining. Sensing the danger, MENICUCCI bridged across. That quickly killed the move.
Over the final climb, Stan MARTINO forced a selection. It was only the local amateurs that were shed decisively, with neither MENICUCCI nor ANTONELLI seeming to be in any difficulty. Rather, it was TIBERI who struggled the most, perhaps paying for his earlier effort. He managed to hold on though, so everybody is together as we join the action at the base of the finalé.
There are Colombini jerseys in abundance on the early slopes. Andrea AQUILANI gains an early advantage but quickly begins to struggle. Paolo SCARPONI, ever the wily veteran, paces himself along the far edge. It is Federico OLEI who comes shooting up the centre, with MENICUCCI and ANTONELLI struggling to follow.
OLEI celebrates early. His acceleration created enough of a gap that, even as ANTONELLI edged closer the longer the climb went on, he held on to take the win.

Individual Time Trial
The competition for the TT jersey was always going to be an intra-team affair, we just would've expected it to be Carlo NOIA and Andrea MACCAGLI duking it out instead of the lads from Colombini. TIBERI was the first through; his time of 1h03'32" stood until the final rider, AQUILANI, beat it by 10 seconds.
RESULTS
1 Andrea Aquilani Colombini Cycling 1h03'21 2 Antonio Tiberi Colombini Cycling + 11 3 Stan Martino Colombini Cycling + 1'18 4 Paolo Scarponi Colombini Cycling + 1'22 5 Michael Antonelli Lampre - Pinarello + 1'37 6 Federico Olei Colombini Cycling + 1'55 7 Samuele Menicucci Gazelle + 2'18 8 Rino Quadrelli Colombini Cycling + 2'21
