Renewals as usual will decide over the team to start with into the transfer season. Same as last 1-2-3 years, where the performance came into place a bit more to higher wage for overperformers and lower wage for underperformers by using some kind of formula, that identified them using the points per wage ratio and other factors, this will be adjusted a bit more, so that the performance becoming more and more important. This will be a progress over the next 1-2-3 off-seasons to implement this slowly and not from one year to another but the aim is that have a more performance kind of wage and less so with just OVL. The system still remains very similar to what it was before. So some managers might not even notice.
A few small information about the new performance system without going into it too much in detail as some things are supposed to be unknown.
- there is a performance ratio in place, which is not simply points scored/wage but more a combination of this and then some division factor, expected points etc.
- so performance is going into renewals in two ways: Performance such as wins and rankings but also the "new or actually adjusted" formula from before, which is used as overperformance ratio. e.g. you have a 70k rider, who scores like a 250k rider due to a unique stat combination, he is surely no longer going for 90k only as he might have done before, but is a lot closer to what similar scorers with higher OVL would ask.
- underperformers this way as well are kind of implemented. While they won`t go down in wage a lot under what their OVL etc. would ask, they won`t get additonal performance boost, that makes the gap between them and better performers becoming bigger.
- Will you notice it a lot and must be afraid of it going into renewals? For most, probably not, if you have one of the elite overperformers, maybe a little bit.
- thanks to redordead for a lot of effort going through the performance ratios and formulas and lots of testing and discussing adjustments.
UPDATE 03/07/2024: Pre Renewals DB
https://pcmdaily....ewals.xlsm
UPDATE 06/08/2024: Post Renewals DB
https://pcmdaily....ewals.xlsm
Included:
- 2024 Teams (still 2023 Names)
- Stat Gains (except for handful teams)
- Decreases
- Age 38 riders in Team Retire, will be deleted or replaced later
- New OVL value after stat gains
- +1 age
Still missing:
- 2024 Team Update (Names and Divisions)
- Loan stuff
- Avenir, Stagiare, Training eligible
- New rider additions
- Disbands
If you think there is a mistake with one of your riders or someone elses regarding age, stat increase/decrease, OVL just give me a PM. Obviously this also goes in case a rider got too much increase or no decrease, please be fair and mention it as it might be noticed at some point anyway.
General Renewals Information
For each of your riders you will receive a wage request, and you have three opportunities to offer them a wage which they are happy with. Riders can usually be negotiated with on their requested wage, although the difference between their minimum acceptable wage and their request does vary quite a lot from rider to rider.
As soon as you offer a rider an amount they are happy with, they will accept - this is committed to being their wage for the 2024 season, you cannot attempt to offer them a lower wage once they have accepted. There are 3 Rounds for renewals, and if a rider has not accepted your offers after 3 rounds then he will became a free agent.
If you want to release a rider, give them an offer of 0 in the first round.
The minimum wage is 50,000. If you are initially unsure whether you want to release or renew a rider, you should offer them a value above 0 and less than 50,000 in the first round to keep your options open for the following round.
If a rider feels your initial offer is far too low, they will be insulted by your offer and will no longer be willing to negotiate. There are two options at this stage: either pay them exactly what they have requested, or release them to the free agency.
It is possible to go over your salary cap at the end of Renewals, but doing so will lead to a fine of double that amount. For example, if you go over your salary cap by 100k then you will receive a fine of 200k.
There is no limit on the amount of riders you renew - it does not have to meet the same minimum/maximum requirements that are needed for the end of the Transfer season itself.
Getting started
If you want to wait with renewals, until you have received your team budget from deciding goals, then this is fine. Also, if you want to see the full calendar, then waiting is fine. But keep in mind that there will be a strict deadline this season and the longer you wait, the less time you have then.
But we do want to get started on the renewals for as many teams as possible. So if the information in this thread is enough for you, and you are happy to do renewals without a budget or full calendar knowledge, please post in this thread to request your Round 1 file to your dropbox folder.
The actual renewals start might not be in the next 2-3 days as things are yet to be worked on, but it will start asap hopefully.
And if you've not done so already, please clean up your Dropbox folder.
Whenever you have finished a round of renewals, upload the file to Dropbox again, only changing the R1 to R2 or R2 to R3 or R3 to DONE and send a PM to NEMOLITO. Please don`t change the name of the file different to this as it makes it harder for me.
Reminder
Renewals MUSTN`T be discussed anywhere, until after all teams has finished. We will let you know when it is okay to post information in Team HQs or elsewhere, about who you have renewed, what their new wage is or their original request, even if you are shocked, and who you haven't renewed.
Thanks to Nemolito, who is taking care of the renewals PMs etc.

Quite a few top stars of the Man Game`s early years and the last decade are retiring this offseason and will surely find a way into some team cars.
Here a short overview of some of them:
Simon Spilak
Ending his career with still 75 mountain, he clearly could have continued, right?
Just a few years ago in 2020, he still came close to the Tour de France podium, as 4th in Generali colours.
1st in 2017 and already in 2011!, 2nd in 2018, 3rd in 2016/14/10, 5th in 2012
Clearly one of the TdF all time greats in the last 1 and a half decade.
Add the win of the Giro d'Italia in 2019 for Isostar as also 3rd in 2013 and 8th in 2020.
Robert Gesink
One of the unluckiest riders in MG history? Early on when he could have dominated a lot, he used to crash out here and there. Later when this was no longer a thing in MG, he hit the low acceleration issue, PCM had in couple of years, where he simply couldn`t perform anymore.
His palmares still is impressive:
Vuelta Win in 2016, 2nd in 2009, 3rd in 2015, 4th in 2020
TdF 3rd in 2017 and 2018
Giro 3rd in 2019
For the next I am missing the time to write in more detail or more than GTs. For whoever has time and motivation, feel free to write some more palmares and text.
Notable mentions:
- Jan Bakelants - all time great puncheur with great climbing skills for some GT performances as well
- Daniel Martin - Always great, never the best. Had his moments in GTs.
- Jerome Coppel - Maybe the best time trialist of all time? Several wins including the big Worlds.
- Robert Kiserlovski - Great stage racer on any level. In especially his Tour of America palmares is impressive in his fight against Kasheschkin and others.
- Benat Intxausti - one of the best Spanish GT riders, limited in hills but great climbing/TT combination
- Andrei Amador - had his best time with UBS probably in the later years and steadily improved his climbing into one of the very best
- David Abal - similar as Intxausti was a regular great in stage races
- Mark Cavendish - nothing to add and I will never get his leopard suit out of head from his Proximus days
- Ian Bibby - a Brit in Africa? dominating PCT alongside Froome and Dowsett
- Geraint Thomas - decent cobbler, star in the lower divisions in his Carlsberg days
- Hassen Ben Nasser - one of best puncheurs in the early years, great PCT rider back then, despite being rather one dimensional
- Jaime Suaza - legend.
- Erik Mohs - pancake sprinter but very successful in the Pokerstars jersey
- Daniel Thorsen - see above, just not as successful but still legendary Eddie Stobart CT level rider
- Aleksandar Flügel - Based on a PPDB story as one of the early random riders, dominated the hills in early years with Volkswagen and other teams
- Maxime Vantomme - yeah, I overpaid, I admit. Thanks CountArach for that lection in our first transfers.
- Michael Ford - not many might remember, but tsmoha clearly does. Great palmares in TTs despite his very one dimensionality

I don't know the formula for the OVL but Remco at 78 with his best main stat being 77 is pretty wild.
Anyway, I am ready.

Yeah, decent hybrids with good Res generally have high OVLs ^^
But Remco still has a low OVL compared to Pidcock - highest main stat (not counting Fl or Acc) 76, OVL almost 79
He'll still justify it, scoring twice as many points as Schmid who almost has the same OVL
Anyway, Jura GIANTS are ready, too.
