Personaly I set every oen at 99, and then I set their seconds by their TT skills, where the ones with 70 leads in 10 seconds, and then it decreases and rises, by one second per stat. Ofcourse daily form has to be taken in to account as well.

Best ever result for me was with Caisse in the TTT in the Giro.
Basically, what I did was give guys like Gutierrez long pulls on the front, ie 30 seconds. The medium level guys got between 10-20, and the one's who couldn't TT, I told go on relay at 100% for 10 seconds and after the first one, told them just to sit on.
Probably would've won the TTT if the AI didn't cheat. |

AI won. Always wins at Time Trails. I've done tests on normal and hard and generally the winning time usually is in relation to your best time, and not the level of difficulty.
Only chance you have is if you're last, and with Caisse I was first off, so naturally had no chance.
Edit : My shocking spelling. Time Trials.

I tried once to do the TTT in Quatar with the Astana TTers and I was last 2minutes behind the winners and I gave most seconds in front to the one that are good on TT...

Qatar is impossible to me too (I've tried everything). I watched the AI winning team (Columbia) and they use 3 riders (2 above 75 TT) one 74. I used similar method and couldn't do it. Long ones with a good team i can win using same method of schleck93. |

I won Qatar, but not the TTT. My riders are in such lousy form that most of them wouldn't beat a cripple slug on a Time Trial. The only one in form is usually only my sprinter, who - generally - can't perform a decent Time Trial. He might beat the cripple slug though.
As for how to win a TTT, just don't let your lousy trialist take the lead after their first try and let them do the work for at most 10 seconds. Let the good TT riders pull the train with a 99 workrate and hope you don't lose too many riders along the way. That's what works best for me, although I usually have too many crappy trialists in my team to get anywhere near a decent classification. |

I have found that you can just let people burn out, they hang on to the back quite well and it seems bugged in that as long as you have a good rider they keep the pace up even after they have run out of energy, so long TTT's are pretty easy
