Think you can use Wordpad and Excel for basic editing of XML files?

You're not making a schema or anything, just editing data, so any text editor will do.
I STRONGLY recommend Notepad++

Well duh, xml is just text with a certain structure, excel is totally different
Anyway, for XML in tables, the only time I needed to use it back in classes I used Stylus Studio. Not sure if it's any good, as I don't have any others to compare it to |

Why don't you ask on a forum of the game's community? |

You'll need Office/Excel 2007 (2003 will work too) to be able to edit XML files. You could download a trial if you don't have it. Then you just do a right click on the XML file -> pick open with.. Excel 2007 -> and then when excel opens it choose -> Open as XML table. If you just intend to alter a few values Notepad++ is also very good, it won't let you edit it in a tabular format but with the search function it might be just as quick. |
