The season finale of the 2022 PCT season, the Giro dell’Emilia had almost everything: Chaos and top favorites missing splits, promising late attacks, an exciting sprint to the finish line and a terrific report by Fabianski.

Incidentally, the latter is also true for the 2022 Tour of America, but that’s not the only thing. George Bennett won the race by just 24 seconds - and then only a single second seperated Ki Ho Choi and doyen Aleksandr Pluchkin in second and third place. Even Marcus Faglum Karlsson in 4th was within one and a half minutes of the GC win!

The 2023 Viana do Castelo, meanwhile, had one of the wilder progression of events of any classic of the season. What for the longest time looked like the winning move came with almost 50 kilometers to go, numerous attacks kept coming and fading, constellations shifted and despite an ultimately expected Tiesj Benoot win, there were certainly some surprises behind him.
