I imagine that it will come as little surprise to anybody that this race was dominated by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png Tinkoff - La Datcha. Of the 24 all but 5 were riding in their colours. They were happy to keep things together, so nothing exciting occurred prior to the finale.

In the end it was pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png Alexander VLASOV who proved himself the strongest of the bunch. That it was pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png Artem SAMOLKENOV and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/dev.png Alexandr KULIKOVSKIY rounding out the podium shows just how important peak wattage is on this parcour. Unfortunately, neither really threatened to take victory, providing for little tension at the finish.

Some might claim that the beauty of the individual timetrial is that it is the purest form of road cycling. There are no teammates to lean on, no tactical games to be played; just a rider and their bike. Nobody was able to overcome the numbers of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png Tinkoff in the road race, but perhaps the TT offers an opportunity. To do so a rider will have to beat pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png VLASOV's time of 1h02'51", set early on in the day.

One man who is no stranger to success is pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png Pavel SIVAKOV. Together, he and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png VLASOV form a deadly stage-racing duo and, today, he very nearly toppled his compatriot with a time of 1h02'54", having been down 8 seconds at the first time check.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/ldl.png Nikita RAZUMOV offers the best opportunity for a non-Tinkoff victory, and he plays his role superbly. He gained time throughout to end up with a time of 1h01'47"

Unfortunately for him, he was immediately preceded and subsequently superseded by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png Aydar ZAKARIN and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/tti.png Kiril YATSEVICH. The former kept pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2023/Micros/ldl.png RAZUMOV from the hotseat by just 2 seconds, before the latter beat them both in 1h01'34".
