In terms of numbers swo teams dominate the Slovenian National Championship startlist, Cedevita and Trans, unfortunately for them, none of their riders are great cobblers so neither team can muster a top 3 favorite. Those honors go to Per, Polanc. and Kosic

20k to go, a break was never really established, Cedevita tried to get their men off the front but others shut them down. Now 16 riders have 48 seconds on the duo of Novak and Tratnik. The sixteen include the three favorites plus two from Cedevita (Groselj, Poljanec) and three from Trans (Pibernik, Katrasnik and Korosec). A handful of other riders trying to get across but the peloton is mostly out of it. One cobbled section remains.
A series of attacks and counters lead to not much until with 9.8k to go, Per, Korosec and Jarc get a gap. Katrasnik trying to bridge up. The next group is 12 riders 28 seconds down, with Cedevita trying to close the gap.
Katrasnik joins the front just in time for the final cobbled section where an acceleration from Jarc pulls him and Per clear. The Genii rider should probably let Per do the work.
After letting Jarc work for a little Per pulls away with 6.5k to rider. A 9-rider chase group has emerged behind being led by Kosic, and including the two Trans riders who were dropped from the lead group, plus Poljanec, Dzamastagic, Finkst, Kump, Horvat and Polanc.
2.4k for Per, he has 48 seconds on Jarc and 56 seconds on a 7-rider chase group now being led by Poljanec. The Trans riders have both been dropped.
Per is too strong, he completes a great season with a dominant performance in the National Championship.
Poljanec grabs second. Defending champion, Dzamastagic, completes the podium.
Pogacar and Mohoric finish 2nd to last and last, almost missing the time cut. Not often you will see that duo back there but both worked hard early.

Time Trial
Having survived the road race Pogacar is among the favorites for the TT. Cedevita has 3 strong chances to take their home race TT jersey.
With Cedevita having 3 good riders, Pogacar is an early starter. He passes all 3 riders starting ahead of him and puts up the best time.
His teammate Penko is the first legitimate threat to that lead on the course. He goes ahead on fractions.
Stimulak is the next favorite on the course and he is the 2nd to last man to start. So far nobody has come within a minute of Penko and Pogacar.
Stimulak does it, he goes into first by 4 seconds. But top favorite Groselj still to come.
Groselj takes the title as Cedevita manage to one-up their fellow Slovenians. The gap is 17 seconds.
