A couple of years ago Guldhammer would have been the clear favourite in a mountainous NC, but there are a lot of riders that can match his climbing skills on today’s course!
After the first climb all of the amateur riders have been dropped, no real contenders in trouble at the moment.
With 10kms to go the first real move is made as Cort Nielsen launches an attack.
Guldhammer does a lot of work to bring back Cort. The Zalgiris captain launches an attack the second Cort is reeled back.
This move means that we have a 10 rider group that will have to decide it. Carlsberg has four riders. Eg, Skjelmose, Gregaard and Olesen can make some serious moves if they have the legs. Surprisingly enough the puncheurs Kron and Haugaard Jensen are still holding on!
With 5kms to go Guldhammer goes again, Cort Nielsen and Gregaard join him as they get a 22 second gap to the rest.
They get reeled back in with 2kms to the finish line as the aforementioned three are joined by, Garby, Vingegaard and Eg.
And it’s Guldhammer that takes it after a great proactive effort from him. Cort second, Garby third.

Time Trial
There’s no beating around the bush, this TT championship is Würtz’ to lose
Hulgaard is the first rider to take a note of as he crosses the line with a time of 1 hour and 1 minute. On the chronos the is already third on both as Valgren Andersen and Norman Hansen are around 10 seconds faster than him at both checkmarks.
The Yorkshire rider is slightly faster than Valgren as they cross the finish line in ST 13 seconds faster than Hulgaard.
Norsgaard and Bjerg were quickest for a split second before Würtz started but now it is looking like they will have to battle it out for silver and bronze. They’re both 22 seconds slower than Grieg’s ace.
It’s agonisingly close for the two as Bjerg crosses the line ever so slightly faster than Tryg’s TT machine.
And it was never in doubt for Würtz who smashes the competition as he’s 57 seconds faster than other podium finishers!
