Welcome to Italy, we have one of the most interesting classics of the season on the menu with Milano Torino! The Italian classic clashes with Lugano and is generally seen as the more tough of the two and when you look at the course it’s apparent why that’s the case.
While the start is flat, the end of the 192kms is an absolute saw of one tough hill after another that is a guarantee for great racing!
This is a race that has been won by strong hybrids for the last few iterations and we do have a couple of returning winners in Kelderman and reigning champion Beltran. Kelderman is among the expected top competitors whereas the Colombian has lost a bunch of power since his last trip to Milano, but you never know what can happen!
We already mentioned two riders that will try to reclaim a win but there is one rider in particular that stands tall above the rest: Areruya. The Rwandan beast has been incredibly difficult to topple in his races this year but that doesn’t mean we won’t riders that are going to try to test their mettle against him. Eiking and Benoot are two riders that have had relatively middling seasons but on paper are among the top riders to make a move here. The investment in Gesbert’s training has still yet to be fully justified with the Frenchman vying for some taste of success. A rider where the training has paid off though is Higuita who’s hybrid skillset could be proven to be of great use on the Italian roads.

After the dissapointment in America, we return close to home in hopes of finally getting a W. Wilco has the ability to perform, he damn sure start to perform otherwise he'll be on the chopping block for 2024. Good luck to everyone!

Moscon liked this race, but he's gone (still looking forward to see what he can do here with his hills training). Errazkin is a tad weaker on the short uphills, but has a better skillset for repeated climbs, which we definitely have here. On paper, he should be a Top 20 candidate; Top 15 would be nice. Darbellay will hopefully support him for most of the race, the punchy climbs then definitely won't be for him.
Good luck to all, thanks for the preview!

Boswell still looking for a decent result this year, not optimistic, but with Bagioli and Narvaez in Lugano this is his chance to lead the bad one last time.

I've got a very weird group here and I hope that someone finds a strong breakaway. Any sort of top 15 result from Squire(?) maybe Betancourt would be amazing.

PCT hills have become sooooo boring
Congrats nonetheless to Xero once again, Areruya really is a cheat code this year. We'll see if he can bring the team to PT singlehandedly ^^
Nice to see Beltran get another (maybe final?) top result here, and Higuita also shows that he's a future superstar!
15th place by Errazkin is pretty OK; not quite the 10 points we were hoping for, but not far off. Job done I'd say.
Thanks for the report!

Fairly typical from Boswell, good enough to stay in the front group but not good enough to do anything. Nice spirit from Seigle and 16th is a good result from him.

We knew it would be hard and it was for us. We could present our colours early a bit but thats it. Our wish to score at least a point couldnt be achieved. Well, next year then... maybe.
Congratulations to the guys on the podium and thanks for thje report!

This is Beltran's favourite race, his last four results here:
1st, 3rd, 1st, 2nd

Great win by Areruya again, go Rwanda!
25th by Eriksson is unfortunately nothing to report home about.
Thank you for your great service whitejersey! |

The race was less selective than I thought it would be, but looking at the podium in the end the mt stat was still of big importance. Glad to see Areruya do well again, and happy with Higuita's podium spot for sure.
Thanks for a great report, whitejersey, and congratulations to jandal

Areruya beasting his way to the top as costumary, Kudos jandal.
Good to see Arndt clinch a top10 for us with Henao closely behind. Not much but every point counts I guess.
Thanks for the report WJ!

Veni, vidi, vici. Just hulking out for 1500m, no leadout, no nothing. I thought it was too long on this finish - he continues to find ways to impress Thanks wj!

Benoot finally waking up in the hills to get a good result. Might be too little too late for our promotion push but at least we're not going out with a whimper.
Congrats to jandal and thanks for the report
