Patch problems

I just purchased a copy of the game on CD. When I try to install the patches, it asks for a registration key which is not on the CD & I don't have a manual with the game. Any ideas? I was able to ride the Australian championship but when I tried to ride the next race, the game crashes when it tries to load the race......

This problem was mentioned a lot for PCM07, but not for PCM08. An idea would be to go to Start -> Run and type in %AppData% . Find the Pro Cycling Manager folder and delete it. Now try to run the game again.

Tried it. It didn't work. The patches have a PCM-Protection.exe file along with a dll file and two other files related to it. If I delete these files, the game will not load either.

Do you have any emulation software installed (Daemon Tools, etc.)? If so, uinstall it.

Other than that, the solution for the PCM07 problem was following:


1. Download this file: https://help.starf...readcd.zip

2. Insert the PCM 2007 disk in your CD drive.

3. Open readcd.zip and unpack readcd.exe to a folder (of your choise) - it doesn't matter what it's called.

4. Open readcd.exe. and choose your driver number - push any key to exit readcd.exe.

5. Some bin-files have now appeared in the folder with readcd.exe.

6. Write an email to (24/7 support) and tell them about the problem (that Starforce asks for a CD key) and tell them that you've allready done everything in step 1 to 5. Attach the bin-files mentioned in the previous step.

7. You'll now receive a reply containing a code. Copy that code.

8. Hold down the SHIFT key and doubleclick on the PCM logo on your desktop - choose "play" (still holding down SHIFT). Now a pox should pop up asking for a CD key. Now let go of SHIFT.

9. Paste the code (that you copied in step 7) and press "next."

10. Now the game should work - but you HAVE to make sure that the disk is in your CD drive every time you run PCM 2007.

Just out of interest, where is the registration key usually located with the CD version?

Uhm? Usually, cd keys are located on the back of the boxes, but PCM hasn't had keys for years (ever? I don't remember).

I had the disc version of CM4 and I think there was a sticker on the inside of the box.

Of course, that could just be my imagination or a different game completely.Wink
