Has anyone tried to make an XML file to do a points race in the velodrome? or have any idea how to make it happen?

I was toying with the idea of trying to do it. But havent got a clue when it comes to active x!

On another note... keiren with 10laps... scratch race?
or elim with 20laps?

worth a thought!

Scratch races have been done, but points races are currently impossible to do

Points race should have been in there to be honest. It shouldn't be that hard to make. If you can make a 3D object disappear from the game it should be easier to add points to a table every few laps Pfft

Essentially, once I have looked into it seriously, we will be able to create a vast array of circuit races (and outside velodrome races) with points and sprints every so many laps. It's not hard to work out how to do it. It's just me having to work out how to create nif files and other stuffs. Plus a lot of testing to make sure it works.

We play points races in NCL!

How does it work?
You set the xml file at 60 laps and 60 inbewteen sprints
Then you load with maximum 15 players, because there HAS to be AI

You let the AI take between 17 and 20 laps. Every human players has to go to zero speed for that and steer to the right (to let the AI through).
When the AI has 17 laps, the players form a train and ride easily towards lap 3 (or 4), from there, you start the race, every 5 laps there is a sprint where the points are 5,3,2,1. The players have to count themselves. Then at 50 laps there is the final sprint with 10, 6,4,2 points.
Because the AI has many laps, the speed in the human group is very high, when you lose contact, your done for. If the front of humans lap the other humans, they get 20 bonus points for taking a lap. The AI plays no role. Wink

It looks complicated, I know, but with NCL it was a lot of fun and we play them regularly
