To be perfectly honest, I voted for Alessandro Ballan. Having learnt a little of his background and having seen him develop over the seasons to still have the mentality of a domestique/helpful rider, I thought he deserved my vote.
I was just wondering who, in their right mind, would vote for a smack head like Boonen?! How could he possibly deserve to be "rider of the year"?

there are more riders that would deserve the titele, but in the end I voted for Contador as well, for the same reason.
Although I was close to a vote for Ballan as well. If he had just won another classic as well...

Gesink...4th Paris-Nice almost winning it wearing the jersey after the Mount Ventoux stage, 4th Dauphine, 4th Fleche Wallone, win it the the queen stage of Tour of California and 7th place in his first GT very close to the 5th position and a good performance on Angliru
I think that are very good results at only 22years

Contador. Winning the Giro and Vuelta in one year is incredible.
He could probably have won the Tour to if he partisipated.

If he would participate in the Tour I'm sure he wouldn't do that in Giro or Vueltais very hard to compete all the GT in one year

Id vote for Roman Kreuziger though, did really well in the Tour de Romandie in which he came second and won Tour de Suisse and the mountain time trial to the Klausenpass there.
Did well in the tour, and came 12th and I got a fan of him!
As hes not been the best this year, I think that my vote go for Contador, he did well at the start of the season and won the Giro and Vuelta, that's just extraordinary!

Why isn't Andy Schleck in that poll?
because he got zilch victories?
What about his ride in the tour and liege..
Way better season than Gilbert.
Contador deffinetly best though!

I voted for Cavendish because of the amount of progress he has made and the impact it has caused on british cycling. He has won the most races in one year and 4 tour de france stages is not easy. Cav deserves it the most. |

Contador. For the first time in a loooooong time the winner (for me) is actually a close call. |
