After an unbelievable 2008 season, LA MSS riders’ face this new era with a great amount of motivation once they achieved some great results (such as Vicioso’s 2nd place in CT overall, total of 35 victories over the season, and an unbelievable 3rd place by Tiago Machado, hired in pre-season, on ITT WC – won by S. Clement – really odd) the team was able to rise to Pro Tour this season!!! (not a joke)
…so the generous, but stupid, sponsors really raised the expectations this season:
How could we, a small team from a small, poor and corrupted country, (or province as the majority of you may think) named Portugal, with only 2 or 3 names with some reputation in the world of cycling, and strongly depending on doping, achieve these hilarious goals?
Stay tuned to know how…

Well… we managed to fool some well-known riders to join us in this ridiculous adventure (and to be blamed instead of the staff when something goes wrong).
Introducing those who didn’t have the capacity to preview this will turn out to become a catastrophic season:
Danilo Di Luca: Past year’s CT winner and Italian champion didn’t have where else to go so he entered our humble team because he confused our name” LA MSS” with “Let’s Mess” which made him sign the contract. (La Gazzeta dello Sport also wrote he was drunk that fortunate day).
Andreas Kloden: With small chances of winning great stage-races in Astana he’s odds of winning anything this season became even lower when he was hired by us.
Stuart O’Grady: At the 1st stage of Euskal Bizikleta the Australian made a bet with Voigt. If the German won the race, the next year O’Grady would sign with the worst team participating on the competition. Voigt, that wins nothing but doesn’t fancy losing bets, poisoned all favorites’ food with laxatives. As they pulled to the side of the road “to do their thing”, Voigt managed to win his only victory of the season and relegate O’Grady to his worst nightmare – ride for LA MSS.
But how could we afford to hire these riders and maintain the rest of the squad in order to achieve a good quantity of rosters to face the ProTour challenge??
Well don’t miss the next post…

well the goals came before the riders that's why I signed them... anyway these three had no team for 2009 so it was somehow natural

well vicioso is the big expert of the team so he's the one that deals with the material
i guess that he has bought some CERA for the team recently but we'll also be using the blood transfusions as we're more of a tradicional methods type of team
but we're on the verge of trying something new for this season... something like adrenalin hormone or even like boonen as tried: cocaine

What crap db are you using, with that awful logo, key races and objectives?

it was the one i started my career with so... and at the time i really wanted to try something different from plus package db and it did seem to be a good one (i think we can all agree that there isnt any perfect db for pcm 08 at the moment).
if i started it right now divinity would perhaps be the chosen one

The answer to last post’s question is… We couldn´t!!!
The lazy accountants didn’t predict but the team is having financial difficulties that might lead us to bankrupt… lets hope the season’s results bring us some substantial earnings that can save our tem finances (just kidding there’s no way we can save ourselves).
The rest of the squad:
Co-leaders:
X. Tondo (he’s better do something or he’ll get his ass kicked)
A. Vicioso (Classic doper)
C. Zaballa (…as well)
Protected Riders:
J. Cabreira (good in the mountains – theoretically)
B. Pires (last years’ Portuguese champion, only damn thing he achieved)
T. Machado (3rd in ITT WC –don’t ask me how)
L. Haedo ( lets hope… something)
Domestiques and Young Riders:
C. Meier (Canadian…)
P. Romero (good timetrialist but cant deliver a bottle)
H. Nybo (don’t even know him)
J. Garrido (he’ll be riding a motorcycle to try not to lose the peloton)
A. Azevedo (crappy crappy rider)
T. Silva (…crappier)
R. Batista (…god why??)
R. England (will be O’Grady’s mate for the Australian champs, then he’s done for the season)
C. Faria ( team mechanic)
N. Valerón (the myopia of my scout caught him)
G. Pesliers (Tour de l’Avenir winner… crappy though)
J. Quiñonero (can´t even remember how did he got to the team)
J. P. Roca (had to fill the spot whit some crappy youngster)
R. Porto (won the Grand Prix de Portugal…wish he didn’t)
