how long does it take for a riders bar to go back to yellow if it has turned red?
also how much of an effect will it have on his performance?

Is it an injured rider or something caused by overtraining / overracing?

overtraining and racing. My main concern is Grivko. I built up his training so he peaked at the Tirreno-Adriatico. Then he raced the GP al Pais Vasco. He hasn't raced since then (it's now 10th of May so over a month) and he's been on very light training as i'm resting him for the tour de france. Despite this his training bar has stayed red. Think he's raced about 25 days so he's not been massively over raced considering i've seen other rider who've done 35-40 days already.

is it just a case of waiting or is there something wrong?

Send him on a leisure camp for 10 days. Then, maybe one more if needed.

I think what probably happened was he was up above 80/90 in fitness for too long.

There were tables out there somewhere showing the effect of levels of fitness on fatigue.

In terms of performance - the only effect it has is on maximum reachable fitness and I also think it has an effect on future development if the rider gets too tired.

hey, eric zabel has just gone red in my Milram career. Will this affect his performance for the rest of the race?

also i think it's a bit rubbish that a riders fitness can go down during a grand tour. in my career Astarloa's fitness was at 85% at the start, now it 78%. i called him up at the last min because another rider was injured so his training schedule has him at very low intensity this month. But surely as he's racing every day his fitnes should stay up. What training is he suppossed to be doing during the Giro?
