I'm thinking of bumping the level of my game up to extreme.
Anyone use it? |

I've so far played about 3 days on PCM08 on hard, and it's realistic enough for me at the moment. But the second it becomes too easy, up to extreme it will go.

never played on extreme but i heard somewhere that your riders just crash more and they very rarely have positive daily ratings. what are the main differences. Do the other riders just attack for longer or what? |

They don't attack for longer, you just attack for shorter
Basically if your rider is 90+ fitness you have as much chance racing against the AI as at 80 fitness on hard. Basically extreme requires you to plan your season to perfection.

It's all about stats. I don't remember it exactly, but it's something like +2 in stats to all AI riders and -1 in stats to all human riders. |

so basically if the comp teams riders have high fitness rating it's practicallty impossible to win? |

No, because the AI is always at 69 fitness regardless. Only their race day fitness changes. (that was the case with 07 at least)
There are also tactics to consider. You can no longer attack from far out and win, often a case of sitting in on a mountain stage and letting the race shell itself to bits has to work.

They tend to be my tactics on hard. I'll rarely put in an attack until the one that will guarantee me the win...
But, to me it seems hard on PCM'08 is more like normal on some of the older versions.

It seems the AI doesn't get any better, just your stats get worse and the computer stats are improved as difficulty is upped. Just plain ugliness, it's just cheating. |

'08 would seem to be different.
Here are the guys with the best fitness in my game at the moment.
Cunego may well win the Giro. |

Actually, I take back what I said about hard.
If the Giro is anything to go by, the GT's are raced at extremely high speeds and even with riders at 90+ fitness, my boys are having trouble hanging on.
Rujano (79 MO Stat) can't even stay with the pack at dot 90/95 going up the small climbs on Stage 7. Just slides on back, and if set to hold position, he just implodes. |
