German Championships 2009
SportingNonsense
Christoph Mai was the strongest of the breakaway

He was caught with 24km to go by Schumacher, Kessler, Gerdemann and Sinkewitz

These 4 press on, with Fabian Wegmann chasing
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/MG09/germanchamps3.png

With 8km to go, Sinkewitz goes solo
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/MG09/germanchamps4.png

But he is caught in time for the sprint
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/MG09/germanchamps5.png

Kessler moves into a slight lead, but everyone is waiting for the other riders to make the move
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/MG09/germanchamps6.png

The pace slows so much that Wegmann catches up! Schumacher then makes his move
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/MG09/germanchamps7.png

Can Wegmann come through for an unlikely victory? He is a stronger sprinter than Schumacher

But in the end he just had too much to do. Stefan Schumacher wins - and dont forget that he will be without a team at the end of the season!

TT

No pics for this as I ran the TT while doing something else. The rider with the best TT stat came out on top - not last year's champ Markus Fothen - but Sebastien Lang of Sony Ericsson!
