[C1] Lillestrom GP
Welcome to Norway, where the best cobblers of the PCT and CT will race each other once again.
The race consists of a round with a length of about 16 km around the small town of Lillestrom. Each round includes a longer cobbled sector and a short climb. While the cobbled sector will be crucial for a selection within the race, the finish line is set only a short way behind the last climb which could be of great importance for the preparation of the sprint or a final attack.
The race has been part of the MGUCI calendar since 2017. It has been decided by a solo attack in its first edition, by a bunch sprint in 2018 and 2020 and by sprints of a small group in the other editions, so everything’s to be expected. No rider has won the race more than once, but Daniel and Van Keirsbulck are at the start this year, with the former being among the favourites as well.

The list of favourites consists of the usual suspects, no surprise given the low amount of cobbled races for PCT and CT cobblers. So it probably will once again be a fight between Stallaert, Theuns, Spengler and Van Hooydonck, though the first two might have the usual advantage of being by far the best sprinters among the favourites.

Another one for Theuns, who has done really well so far - no matter the level. Podiums in C1, HC and even in a monument - hopefully he'll continue to make good use of every single one of his cobbled races, as there aren't too many of them (at least not on my schedule). And given that South Africa went quite a bit worse than expected, we'll be looking to get a good bunch of points here. Hoping that small hill will give him the edge over the stronger cobblers!
Thanks for the preview, good luck to all.

Obviously a race we have great memories of with two wins here! However, with the way our season has been going so far I don't think that we can expect anything but a top 5, the added level of competition seems to really have cost Daniel a lot of top end scoring and on paper this should be a battle between Stallaert and Theuns!

The season so far has proven how tough the cobbles competition is, so I'll be happy with a repeat of last years' Top 3 finish. A win is obviously in the cards, but with how long the race is compared to some of the previous ones, Stallaert's lack of stamina could hurt him more here. Looking forward to it either way!

Thanks KB for the preview!
Don’t think this year Chatarunga could copy his 7th place. Top 15 would be a success I guess.

Home race for us, but I doubt we will be of any trouble to the big guns here.
Always nice to ride infront of our countrymen though |

If we continue doing what we've been doing in the cobbles so far this season, I'll be very happy.
Thanks for the preview

Very enjoyable read, thanks Kandesbunzler! I mean not from a team point of view of course but that was as expected!
Jura are doing quite well, aren't they ?

Well thanks for the race kandesbunzler and congrats to Fab. Theuns is a total monster this season. With the amount of money we have invested in our cobbles department and the lackluster results we have been getting, I'm thinking I'll need to rethink my strategy next season (and have some concern at this point we are heading for relegation).

Happy with that second place, I can live with finishing behind Theuns, especially after how the race played out. Stallaert tends to be quite aggressive and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. To be able to still hold off everyone but Theuns after all that effort is very impressive. And it's simply another day of very consistent scoring, which is very nice. No freaking idea what's gotten into Teggart to attack that late, though
I will also advocate for circuit cobble races (or any circuit races for that matter) to have longer laps, because those last screenshots were quite confusing if I'm honest

Wow, really impressive season so far by Theuns! Thanks a lot to Spengler and Van Hooydonck for bringing back the front group - sad to see that both weren't rewarded for their big chasing work.
Theuns then doing what he does best - sprinting uphill. He almost got zabel'd, but only almost - win #3 already, what a beast!
Bakke in the break and Tediashvili in the points is a familiar sight by now - one I do really like, though. Well done!
Thanks for the congrats, and thanks for the report as well! Well done also by Stallaert, getting another strong result in a really good month for Bralirwa! Gamper finally doing well is nice to see, too

I'll be delighted if we maintain the same approach on the cobbles as we have throughout this season. Appreciate the preview vampire survivors |

The cobbles team are continuing to get solid results, so no complaints there.
Congrats to Fab again and thanks for the report

My apologies, I totally missed this race. First of all thanks for the preview and great report to kb!
A shame that the gap of four didn't hold until the end. A top-4 would have been amazing for Zepuntke. A ninth place is still half decent to be fair, just barely gives any points, with also none of the domestiques coming close to scoring again. Jura and Theuns keep degrading the rest of us, congratulations Fab!
