Drop back four riders or so riders
And increases all there work efforts
It should get them back very quickly |

Basically, the AI's tactic is the only way, I guess |

I find that getting back into the peloton in the game is rather realistic, if the peloton is moving slow, putting the riders effort on even something as low as 75% will get him back in quickly. But, if the peloton is moving you have to drop riders back to pull him in |

It also depends on the terain
As long as your rider can uphill
Any bumpy stage is great
But your stamina will go down very quickly |

i sometimes find it difficult to get riders to drop back. in my milram stroy when Rigotto crashed i put 3 riders effort down to 0 so they would stop but they just carried on riding with the peleton. Rigotto had to do it alone.
unless it's my leader who goes down i usually just leave them to fend for themselves. As you say, if the peletons going slowly then they will chase back easily. If it's moving quickly i don't usually bother to drop anyone back (unless it's my leader) and just accept they've been dropped. playing with milram i don't usually care about loosing time on GC anyway because i've got no chance of winning overall |

You have to set your riders on the dot, only then they will drop back
@Jaywol: If the fallen rider is my captain, I let all my riders drop back and then I set their effort to 99%, and that doesn't depend on how fast the peloton rides. If it's another rider, I don't care. If he comes back on his own, good, if the peloton's too fast, bad luck. |

The "dot" is the single point on the table on the left bottom of the screen, whre you choose the rider's actions. It's the one between the "ride with the peloton"- and the "relay"-button, the third one in the first row
If you choose the dot, the rider will go at the speed of the effort you choose (e.g. 30% means he will ride very slow, 99% means he will ride as fast as he can).
So if you choose the dot + 0% effort, your rider will stop riding. |

Just be careful with that 0% effort - if you leave it on for too long, your rider(s) will abandon the race. |
