The final stage is hilly rated but from a look on the profile, it doesn`t look that hard with a lot of flat and even downhill sections towards the finish. The tougher climbs are already quite a bit out with a longer Cat.2 and then a short Cat.3 and a very low slope Cat.2 as last KoM.

Bookie favourites are the puncheurs but again, some roleurs and even sprinters are around there and as Groves was solid yesterday, today should suit him a lot more.

Two of the most active teams in breakaways.

The biggest fight today might actually be for the points competition. Right now Banaszek leads with 62 points but Kragh Andersen 59, Groves 57, Zhao 53, Coquard 52, Bol 51 Philipsen 41 are still pretty close alongside Wirtgen as GC rider at 49.

Some riders did listen to their managers are try to shine today. Mid stage on the longer Cat.2 a quartett attacks:

So none of them is a huge danger but still it`s not like they are far off and can be fully ignored.

Still it`s the sprinter teams Polar, Amaysim and ELCO chasing alongside Cedevita.

With 30km the two groups fusion but it`s also just 50s to the peloton!

And another 16km later the peloton also caught up to the group. All sprinters still around as the terrain is too easy to drop them. And we are behind the Cat.2 and this means mainly descent and flat with just small bumps left.

Still some riders try to attack. Van Niekerk and De Bie go with 6,1 km to go. Sagan a bit behind them.

But basically we will get a sprinter finish here. Rajovic in the unlucky first position.
Then Coquard, Groves, Thijssen, Sagan, Bol, Van der Kooij, Silvestre, Zhao, Gidich and Contreras. Philipsen not ideally placed yet and neither Kragh Andersen or points leader Banaszek.

2,2km and Sagan with another attempt to ruin the sprinters day. But Coquard himself closing the gap and using the slipstream.

800m and Coquard in hte lead. It`s early but also slightly downhill.

Zhao, Rajovic, Thijssen, Groves, Bol next.

And the descent really helped. Coquard didn`t really exhaust and brings it home. Finally! A win on maybe unexpected terrain but after so many disappointments, it`s probably a very deserved win. Thijssen and Groves next, then Rajovic and Zhao with Bol behind.

This means, Banaszek struggled today and won`t score any points. A quick calculation and Coquard makes the double. Despite struggling he still was decent in the 2nd half and goes into the lead of the point competition, Groves and Kragh Andersen/Zhao follow.

But no stage without some ELCO desaster it seems. After the first 44 riders a small gap opened and Ioannidis was on the wrong side losing 78s, dropping to 25th GC behind Coquard, who moves up to 16th.

Wirtgen though takes the GC with Ganna, Hart and Conci following. A close fight for 3rd seems to be won by Hart.

Gidich and De Bie as best pure puncheurs as 6th/7th while Philipsen as sprinter on a strong 8th.
