The Race Profiles forum for the 2023 season is now online. This year, it is ordered by race category. Some very few race are potentially wrongly placed due to late changes. You will always be able to find them via the search function. Race clashes are correct in the calendar file and should be in the profile threads. So in case it`s different there, the calendar file always is the correct and used one. An important thing to remember when looking at the race profiles with a time trial symbol: a white clock is an ITT, a TT symbol with a jersey in it is a TTT.
The 2023 calendar file (which also has the HC/PTHC bands listed) can be downloaded here: https://pcmdaily....endar.xlsx

It is also now possible for you to decide on your team goals then.
Team Goals form a vital part of each team's season. In the short term, how hard goals you pick will determine your final budget - but in the longer term, how well you achieve those goals in the season will have a significant effect on your budget for the following season.
Going for harder goals could reward you greatly if you achieve them, but will punish you if you fail them. Easier goals will be less punishing if you dont achieve them, but they are in turn less rewarding aswell.
For new CT teams, it obviously isnt easy to pick goals without knowing what your team will be - so now is the time to decide which races you want to focus on, and you can then target riders in the transfers season appropriately.
Each type of goal has a cost, and every team must select 5 goals. The total goal cost must be between 14 and 23. There are also certain constraints on what type of goal you can select.
| Win | Top 3 | Top 5 | Top 10 | Points/KoM Jersey | Stage Win | Other | Team Standings | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | - | - | - | Individual Standings | 3 | 2 | - | 1 | - | - | - | Tour de France | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 2 | - | Giro d'Italia | 5 | 4 | - | 3 | 3 | 2 | - | Vuelta a Espana | 5 | 4 | - | 3 | 3 | 2 | - | Monument | 5 | 4 | - | 3 | - | - | - | PT Stage Race | 4 | 3 | - | 2 | 2 | 1 | - | PT Classic | 4 | 3 | - | 2 | - | - | - | PTHC Stage Race | 4 | - | - | - | - | - | - | PTHC Classic | 3 | - | - | - | - | - | - | 12 Stage Wins in a Season | - | - | - | - | - | - | 4 | 8 Stage Wins in a Season | - | - | - | - | - | - | 3 | Stage win in All GTs | | | | | | | 3 | Avoid Relegation | | | | | | | 1 |

All teams must have at least 1 'Win' Goal - This means winning a classic or Stage Race outright
All teams must have exactly 1 C1 Goal
As C1 is not guaranteed, the OR Goal will be extended for CT teams
All teams must have a Team Standings Goal
No more than 1 goal per race
No more than 1 Points/KoM Goal
Note for all: The stage wins goals means stage wins. Overall race victories - be it a stage race or one day race - do not count. Stages wins during PT races for PCT teams do not count either.
Race Flexibility
For one of your goals, you can select 2 races (of the same goal cost) rather than 1. For example: "Top 10, Paris - Nice OR Tour of Qatar". At the end of the transfer season, you must then choose which of these two races you want to keep in your goal.
C1 Goals Flexibility for CT Teams
CT teams must have exactly 1 C1 goal, which is difficult as it`s not guaranteed for you to take part in that race. Therefore you MUST use an additional flexible OR goal on another C1 race, in which you send priority list of another 4 C1 race goals of the same goal cost where the C1 goal will move over in case you weren`t getting a spot. This doesn`t impact the one regular flexible OR goal as written above for all teams, which still can be used by CT teams.
For example:
Win C1 1 Jour de Dunkerque 6
OR Win C1 Race From Priority List
- Berlin ProRace 6
- Hong Kong Challenge 6
- La Tropicale Amissa Bongo 6
- Tour de Vineyards 6
Submitting your Goals
To submit your goals, please use the table format as seen in the spoiler and send it via PM s as seen further below.
Spoiler Race A | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Race B | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Race C | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Race D | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Team Standings | Option | Cost |
PT teams: ivaneurope
PCT teams: redordead
CT teams: Fabianski
If you were waiting for your budget before renewals, please decide on your goals quickly. |

Would be great if up to 3 managers are found quickly to collect the goals.
Feel free to edit yourself into the first post with name and profile link.
Thanks in advance and enjoy picking your goals and search through the calendar. |

Will take the CT goals this year.
Good to see that there are now 3 races for all those French CT teams, with Paris - Tours downgraded to C1 and GP Plouay added (in addition to the returning 1 Jour de Dunkerque).
Austria in C2 feels a bit weird, have always known this as an HC race, and was looking forward to it. We'll see if I'll use it for my mandatory C2 RDs then.
Somewhat disappointed though that there's no more ITT classic in C2/C1/HC. For PCT, there's just Arenberg, which is a really particular one, and for CT riders there's none at all. Isle of Man in C1 would have been perfect as an ITT, let's see if we can have this next year.
A big thank you to the calendar team, and to all who contributed in getting the profile threads ready! Looking forward to the season - and now let's pick some goals

Will take PCT, haven't collected goals for a few years now.
Fixed.

Btw, does the Top 20 goal in PCT really still make sense? After going down to 24 teams, 20th is now the first relegation spot, so you could actually achieve a team goal despite relegating. Which somewhat contradicts the PT goal of "avoiding relegation"... Maybe we could have the same for PCT, which would then be valid all the way down to 19th, but not 20th.

About that - I think it'll be best to have the division changes published as soon as possible in order to re-assure some of the managers who wait for this to begin planning for next season (goals included)

Agree, with PCT teams now being 24 instead of 26 the years before, this goal is redundant. Perhaps renaming it "Avoid relagation" could be an option, but also a bit redundant

Yes, basically the top20 is avoid relegation in PCT now.
Goal cost is 1 anyway. So no need to "rename it" now as it`s almost equal meaning and shouldn`t impact teams really. |

Since when was there a Top 20 goal in PCT anyway? Am I going crazy?
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

The Tour Down Under and Tour de Romandie profiles for 2023 still had the 2022 profile in error. These have now been corrected.
Romandie - the only change is S4 is now a summit finish, while previously it ended after the descent from that climb.
Tour down Under - there are more substantial changes to the route but it is still similar in nature, balanced between the tougher sprinters and the faster punchers.

I kind of liked the downhill end as a CT team, as that made the stage an almost guaranteed breakaway affair. As a PCT team with (hopefully) some stronger climbers, though, I like the change Also takes some weight away from the hilly stage, and makes it 4 GC-defining stages instead of 3 (as S4 almost never yielded significant gaps between the top climbers).

We felt like with the downhill it tended to be non-selective and given it is a short race making the main mountain stage more selective made sense.

To all CT managers who haven't submitted their goals yet (surprisingly few, to be honest):
I'm going to be away for one week starting from Saturday, and I most likely won't be online. There's still gonna be one week until transfers from then on, so plenty of time to validate your goals; but if you want to dream (or see your dreams shattered) for another week, you should submit your goals tomorrow.
I was hoping that the renewals DB would already be out by then, but alas. It doesn't really make a difference, given that you're not allowed to talk about transfer targets anyway (see Transfer Talk reminder thread, just in case you didn't know yet).

I'm guessing that setting goals is different than actually determining my teams race schedule for the year. Like, I'm going to be in more races than just the ones I've put in my goals, right.
When and where do we select races? |

Race selection comes later during transfers when you have more sense of your roster.

To avoid some confusion, there is a wrong picture of TdF route (same as in 2022) in Race Profiles 2023 thread.
