We're back in Asia for a joint NC mountain race, will the favorites prevail? Or will an attacking puncher beat the pack?
15 amateurs are joined by Manamalange in the breakaway. No real surprise that Manamalange is the first to get dropped, and is picked up at the 35K mark. They get caught with 20KM to go.
And here is the first favorites attack! Carcueva attacks, and Liphongyu immediately jumps in his wheel. Gilanipoor, Quita, Khodayari, and Siriwardena counter but have trouble making the connection. Mano decides to counter on his own aswell, leaving us with a two man attack and two chasing groups in front of the peloton.
5K to go and another group has joined the chase. Both Antiguans, Dulanjana, Kumara, and Sirironnachai are trying to catch up with Mano who is about to catch the first chasing group. They on their turn are catching up with Liphongyu, who can't keep up with Carcueva's second attack.
1KM to go and Khodayari attacks, deciding the Iranian Championship as Gilanipoor breaks down.
Carcueva wins it for the Philippines!
Liphongyu holds out to win the Thai championship!
Khodayari seals the Iranian title!
Red Bull's Sirirwardena comes in 5th, but as the first Sri Lankan!
Bridges beats out Gayral to extend his Antiguan jersey!
