So i've tried now for some stages to lead out Kristoff in a sprint, making a whole train for him, but whenever the lead out man Blikra takes off Kristoff does not follow at all. I've tried leading out with lower effort but despite sprinting with 70 Kristoff just won't latch on.
What am I doing wrong?
With the mountain sprint i've seen that the AI sprints the last few hundred meters, how does it do that, I don't see my rider having a sprint option when fighting for KOMs.
I noticed the same for sprint stages. My sprinter was not following his lead out sprinter and was far behind him when I started the sprint. I'm not entirely sure, but it doesn't seem to be a bug.
The solution is just to build a train with some good rouleurs and instead of having a second sprinter start the lead out, you have your rouleurs drop you off with a 1km or so to go and then you start your sprint.
For example, I did the Champs Elysees stage with Quick Step and had Cavagna, Asgreen and Senechal ahead of Jakobsen. Start with effort cursor 85 with 15kms to go or so and slowly bring it up so that your last lead out is on effort 99 in the last 4 or 5 kms. Once you reach the Flamme Rouge, or a bit before, start your sprint with your sprinter. If you're in a good position, you'll win most times.
I tried with a lead out that was not as powerful (Ladagnous, Askey and Kung for Demare). As long as your last lead out can put you in a very good position when you start your sprint, you'll have a good result.
I think that for PCM23, it will be important to have at least one very good rouleur with a good Flat stat to have some good sprinting results.
