RR
Riders from Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela head to the Andes for these possibly imaginary mountains to battle the South American championships
After Botero, Pena, Mora, Baez, Salamanca and Capacho went away and were caught on the big first climb, Diniz, Soler, Orozco and Torres went away on the 2nd climb
After the descent below sea level, Soler went solo on the 3rd climb
When the main pack reach there, Serpa attacks
Rujano and Medina are quick to respond
Only Serpa reaches up to Soler though, already holding a minute and 40 advantage on the next chasers
Rujano and Medina have joined Torres.
Diniz, Orozco, Chacon and Suaza link up with that group
Going into the final descent, Soler and Serpa lead by 2 and a half minutes
Chacon and Rujano have left the rest behind
While Torres, Medina, Suaza, Diniz, Ardila, Orozco, Pedraza and Giraldo are a further 50 seconds down
Onto the final climb now, 8km up to the finish. Surprisingly, Soler has dropped Serpa
Serpa fights back up though and rejoins Soler - with Rujano dropping Chacon behind. Serpa then presses on further and drops Soler
There is no way that Jose Serpa will be caught. He wins the South American championships and becomes the new Colombian RR champion
Rujano caught and passed Soler to take 2nd. What matters for him though is that he is now the Venezuelan RR Champion
Chacon takes 4th place
Medina leads in the next group for 5th
Duarte leads in the next group. This group contains Nazaret, who retains his Brazilian RR title

TT
Rigoberto Uran is the winner of the South American TT Champs and the new Colombian TT champion
Botero and Agudelo take 2nd and 3rd in the Colombian champs - thats 3rd and 4th overall
2nd today and only 5 seconds behind Uran was Pedro Nicacio. He had no real competition for the Brazilian TT title
The Venezuelan TT title is harder to predict. And in finishing 10th best South American, Manuel Medina takes the Venezuelan title
Franklin Chacon trailed by 11 seconds, Jose Rujano by 18

Youve got 18 Americans in Slipstream, theyll be split into two teams of 9 - as there is less than 20 separate teams. The 2 riders from the B Team will also be riding separately.

Argentina will have a separate, flat, national championships - since pretty much all of the leading Argentinians are sprinters
