Welcome to the 7th Edition of the Betonexpressz GP! The best sprinters in the CT division (and some from PCT) will arrive in Hungary to face a 211km slog to the finish line. The race takes in 2 different circuits that both feature hills and if ridden hard enough, could put some of the favourites in trouble. After descending the last hill, the riders will negotiate a false flat up to the finish line.
Name | FL | HI | ST | RS | SP | AC | Colbrelli | 74 | 61 | 74 | 72 | 79 | 75 | Guardini | 71 | 63 | 72 | 67 | 79 | 80 | Bennett | 71 | 64 | 74 | 68 | 79 | 79 | Keough | 73 | 62 | 67 | 73 | 79 | 79 | Perera | 71 | 64 | 69 | 73 | 79 | 80 | Matthews | 76 | 65 | 72 | 67 | 79 | 79 | Willwohl | 73 | 64 | 71 | 67 | 79 | 78 | Bertilsson | 73 | 69 | 72 | 71 | 79 | 77 | Kanter | 75 | 67 | 75 | 73 | 79 | 80 | Krieger | 71 | 62 | 71 | 74 | 79 | 79 | Sanikwathi | 72 | 66 | 70 | 67 | 78 | 78 | Gibbons | 75 | 65 | 73 | 72 | 78 | 78 | Rajovic | 72 | 64 | 70 | 76 | 78 | 82 | Altanzul | 72 | 69 | 68 | 73 | 78 | 75 | Merlier | 73 | 68 | 72 | 72 | 78 | 74 | Wippert | 70 | 67 | 75 | 70 | 78 | 82 | Bauhaus | 74 | 61 | 71 | 65 | 78 | 75 | Waersted | 73 | 67 | 69 | 78 | 78 | 79 | Silva | 75 | 68 | 69 | 70 | 77 | 78 |
We have two former winners here in Michael Matthews and Luke Keough that will be here hoping for a repeat of their respective 2018 and 2019 victories. McCormick bring a decent squad with them, including leadout Feiereisen, whilst Mathews will primarily be relying on decorated veteran Kristoff to assist him.
There is a large cluster of sprinters of a similar skill level present here resulting in a very strong and deep field. Colbrelli, Guardini, Bennett & Keough are the four top favourites here. They all share similar skillsets – all should be able to make it over the hills, are fast and can get up to speed quickly – except for Colbrelli who will hope that stamina and resistance come into play. He will also be the top favourite if it is a long, disorganised sprint as he will not run out of energy as quickly. Bennett will hope for a hard race, and Keough will hope for a hard finish.
Almost all other names listed in the favourites list have got a big chance of taking the win also. Tryg duo Kanter & Krieger are both phenomenal sprinters in their own right and one if not both should be big factors here in Hungary. Another duo, Perera & Wippert, should also be terrific value for their team Oktal in achieving a good result here. In fact quite a few teams have sent more than one strong option here with BNZ, Staffbase, Tafjord and Bianchi all having great flexibility with their tactics and race strategy, having more than one strong sprinter present at the start line.
Name | FL | HI | ST | RS | SP | AC | FG | Veyhe | 80 | 68 | 66 | 71 | 56 | 78 | 80 | Vermeersch | 77 | 70 | 74 | 78 | 74 | 72 | 60 | Breen | 77 | 70 | 72 | 72 | 73 | 72 | 74 | Manakov | 77 | 58 | 77 | 68 | 72 | 76 | 65 | Richardson | 77 | 65 | 71 | 74 | 68 | 67 | 76 | Yzeiraj | 77 | 66 | 74 | 74 | 62 | 71 | 85 | Matthews | 76 | 65 | 72 | 67 | 79 | 79 | 65 | Jans | 76 | 74 | 74 | 73 | 74 | 74 | 68 | Bernas | 76 | 75 | 75 | 71 | 70 | 73 | 82 |
There are a number of riders that might fancy themselves upsetting the sprinters with a late attack. Veyhe is a super strong rouler and the first name on the startlist you would think would make a late attempt. Staffbase have many cards to play – along with their sprinting duo of Willwohl & Bauhaus, they have Veermeersch and Jans who could definitely latch on to a late move and both have decent finishing ability. The same can be said for Oktal duo Richardson & Yzeiraj who aren’t as good at finishing but who are known to both ride aggressively. Cobbled mastero Breen is here, as well as another very strong outsider in Bernas – a terrific all-round rider.

Thanks Eden! Scary how you managed to post this 5 minutes into the future!
As you say all eyes on Bennett here for us. He has finished 7th here before and anything around that mark would be fine. He's dropped a little so I'm a little worried about the bumps but looks like most competitors are of similar type
Nelson actually took a podium place here last year for Glanbia so we are hopeful.

We've got no sprinter at the start (whatever we were thinking), so let's hope for a day in the break - or get rid of all the sprinters and let McEvoy shine.

Ooooh, almost podium by Bertilsson, but we're happy with 4th. Some valuable points to travel home with.
Thank you Eden! |

Thanks for the great report.
Keough was in a good position but didn't have anything left at the end, maybe too hard for him. Rajovic with an awesome finish, congrats to Jakstar.

Great finish by Rajovic, indeed! I'd have loved to somehow fit him into my roster this year, but it wasn't to be. Still great to see him deliver for BNZ, congrats
Kanter has also found his mojo by now it seems (and yeah, he was one of my potential targets as well), will be interesting to see if Tryg can actually even join the promotion fight despite quite some Schlegel weirdness!
Thanks for the report, Eden, nice to follow as a neutral spectator

So close from Kanter! Was that short pull earlier on the difference maker? Alas.
Thanks for the report Eden!

Congrats to the winner and thanks for reporting!
With that I've successfully missed all my season goals because I doubt i will make Top 10 in the standings.
So regarding my goal i set before the season i should be dissapointed but looking at it realistically I am quite happy with the 5th place of Willwohl, he did what he was capable of. So the fault is here on my site and i try to submit reachable goals next year

That seemed like a lot of work for 10th place !
Still a worthwhile day for Bennett and Frame.
Congrats to BNZ, feel like you guys are on a roll...
Thanks for the report
