Welcome ladies and gentleman to the only German Stage race on the Continental Calender. This years race has 3 stages classified as hilly, 1 flat Road race and a time trial.
Without further ado lets get caught up on the stage 1 action. A break goes early and it is Ivan Seledekov of IRN Bru taking all of the KoM banners except the last one.
Seledekov (IRN Bru) Sobota (B&O) Barclay (Virgin B) Robert (Gatorade) Downing (Procycling) and Hicks (Fed-Ex B) comprise our Break of the day.
Seledekov made clear his intentions in the KoM Competition
Molteni, Pro Cycling, Nippo and B&O are the teams to look out for.
Molteni takes the responsibility of pulling back the break.
15 km's to go the last time up a short but leg searing climb and its all over for our Breakaway, and its then that the attacks start.
Noval goes first and is quickly marked by Froome Sambris, Keinath, Mertens and Grabovski
At the bottom of the hill with 3km's to go Froome and Noval meet and Froome goes straight past. But Sambris is closing quick...
But Froome takes it anyways. Great win for the young Trinidad and Tobagoan!
