Welcome to the 12th edition of the Ras Tailteann stage race. The race has undergone many transformations in division, length and profiles, but over the last 4 years in has settled in as 3 day sprinters only race. No KOMs, pan flat through out with the F1 style bonus seconds system for the top 10 finishers. The most consistent sprinter wins the race.
With that said let's look at some of the favourites:
Sprinter | FL | RS | SP | AC | Lead out | FL | RS | SP | AC | Saber | 75 | 72 | 81 | 79 | De Bondt | 76 | 69 | 74 | 76 | Guerao | 72 | 61 | 81 | 73 | Aberasturi | 73 | 69 | 78 | 76 | Kanter | 75 | 73 | 79 | 80 | Nyoni | 67 | 69 | 70 | 68 | Perera | 71 | 73 | 79 | 80 | Wippert | 70 | 70 | 78 | 82 | Keough | 73 | 73 | 79 | 79 | Rathe | 73 | 71 | 74 | 76 | Matthews | 76 | 67 | 79 | 79 | Prasad | 74 | 74 | 78 | 79 | Boudat | 73 | 74 | 79 | 78 | Merlier | 73 | 72 | 78 | 74 | Bennett | 71 | 68 | 79 | 79 | Frame | 71 | 74 | 77 | 76 | Rajovic | 72 | 76 | 78 | 82 | Altanzul | 72 | 73 | 78 | 75 | Waersted | 73 | 78 | 78 | 79 | Eislers | 74 | 68 | 76 | 75 | Gibbons | 75 | 72 | 78 | 78 | Silva | 75 | 70 | 77 | 78 | Boivin | 73 | 69 | 78 | 79 | Alaphilippe | 72 | 69 | 77 | 77 | Bauhaus | 74 | 65 | 78 | 75 | Grosser | 70 | 72 | 75 | 75 | Major | 74 | 70 | 77 | 78 | Sinclair | 70 | 70 | 76 | 75 |
Saber is the unquestioned #1 favourite for this race. Given that status it'll be crucial that his link up with De Bondt works as best as it can. Guerao has shown that he can still win races even with his low acceleration, though Aberasturi might be a questionable lead out choice. Kanter's manager is probably hoping the German can follow others to compete for victory. Perera or Wippert could both argue they should be the lead sprinter. Can Keough carry his great recent form to Ireland?
Matthews, Boudat and Bennett are three similar sprinters with a similar lead out rider. Rajovic is always a but of an underdog as 78 sprinter, but has the acceleration to cause an upset. Waersted has the biggest engine when you combine his FL and RS stats. Gibbons had won the USPCC earlier in the year, so he can produce consistent results. Boivin is 33 yo, this is probably his last chance for a big result in a race like this. Bauhaus and Major are probably the two 'outsiders' that round out this list.

Thank you for an amzing preview redordead!
Looks like it's quite an even field here in Ireland.
Hope Waersted can do something. We're in desperate need for points now. |

Ah, the home race. Wisely, Glanbia have not hyped this up too much with any promises of glory.
The Frame-Bennett partnership proved excellent earlier in the season but I guess Bennett won't be considered deserving of a lead-out here but who knows?
Thanks for the preview Red, we'll be happy with a top 10

No real scoring riders here for us so have to hold onto hope of getting involved in a few breakaways.
Thank you for the preview and good luck to all

Boivin has been quite consistent in his results in his previous races, and though he mostly finished in the lower top 10 places this could be a good chance for a GC top 10 in this race regarding the bonus second system here.

Its good to see Saber appear on the starting list again. And lets hope he delivers on the promise of being the best out here on paper. I’ll be crossing my fingers. Thanks for the preview red!

Just realised i'm yet to make a joke about Major being a military rank! Hopefully he'll provide a noteworthy performance so i am forced to think of one. Other this race will be yet another major waste of time in our generally bad season, but at least i am having a private laugh knowing we will commanders of the CT next season.

I mean not a bad start. Good top 10 for Rajovic. He is looking like he's following the wheels well and sprinting well. Definitely a possibility of a stage win here for us so hopefully we can deliver!

My talents doing what they do best which is join the breakaway
Good to see our guys getting involved in all aspects of the race as I'm pleasantly surprised we have to many riders between 10th and 20th in the GC to give us the lead in the Teams
Thank you for the report and long may some minor points scoring continue!

Awful news that Glanbia's sponsors are missing the home race due to a bizarre and unlikely chain of events.. Manager MacC vehemently denies any involvement and has no idea why he was caught on camera slashing their tyres.
Hopefully they will make the final stage where Sam Bennett has promised something special....I presume he means especially good but we'll see

Keough coming from a long way back both days, bad day 1, worked OK with a podium day 2. But the splits work to our advantage so can't complain too much, nice to see Mostov making himseulf useful by being with Keough and making the split.
One more decent sprint tomorrow and a shot at a top 5 on GC, but then again 15th is also possible. I wonder if with the time gaps we could have some breakaway shenanigans.
Thanks for the reports Red.

Not a bad day at the office for our Super Morrocan. Lets hope he can keep the GC in his favor on the last day and bring home the bacon! Thanks for the report Red

5th is better then stage 1. Rajovic is still right up there in the GC it’s insane how close this race gets just from time bonuses. If we can get a win in stage 3 we have every opportunity of taking out the GC. Rajovic is looking in good form so hopefully he can at least get himself on the podium!

Two 7th place is not too bad, considering the field.
The problem is the split in the second stage,
Thanks for the reports red, and congrats to Colombini for the win. |

That's Waersteds first podium for Tafjord iirc. Great stage, too bad he blew it on yesterdays stage.
Thank you so much for doing these stages redordead and congrats Kaiser! |

Definitely not the result I was hoping for. Still a top 10 in GC but the final stage Rajovic struggled. Hopefully a decent points haul but still not what I was hoping for or expecting.
