The end of the Tour of Britain brought to a close this seasons British Isles Tour, which had comprised of 7 events:
Bikeline 2-Day - Winner: Heinrich Haussler
Archer GP - Winner: Jonathan Bellis
FBD Insurance Ras - Winner: Timothy Duggan
Isle of Man TT - Winner: Ben Day
Blackpool GP - Winner: Julian Dean
Tour of Ireland - Winner: Jimmy Casper
Tour of Britain - Winner: Dominique Rollin
JJ Haedo, Bradley Wiggins and Jonathan Bellis were the only riders to win in more than one of those races, with Bellis and Haedo scoring points in 5 of the 7 races.
But what of the final rankings? The top 3 ranked riders did not ride the Tour of Britain but remained in the top 3. Heinrich Haussler and JJ Haedo had battled for the top spot throughout, and it is Haussler who triumphed - by just 20 points.
Now, onto the teams - and this ranking did change after the Tour of Britain. NVidia had held the early lead but slipped out of contention as Procycling-BBC and Slipstream battled for the title. Slipstream held a 51 point lead going into the Tour of Britain and although Alex Howes took 3rd overall, Procycling were at the forefront and won 3 of the stages.
Remarkably, the winning team won by the slimmest of margins: 1 point. And it was Procycling!
Procycling, Slipstream, Wiggle and IrnBru were the only teams to score in all races - while the only main continental team who did not score any points (since they did not ride any of the races) was B&O.
