Let's look at all participating teams in detail:
| | | | | | | | | | Bianchi - Panerai | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Bayer | Tobias | AUT | 23 | 68 | 68 | 68 | 67 | | | Chatarunga | Sameera | SRI | 30 | 72 | 67 | 79 | 77 | | | Dakteris | Janis | LAT | 31 | 75 | 64 | 74 | 72 | | | Hnik | Karel | CZE | 31 | 73 | 64 | 73 | 76 | | | Manakov | Viktor | RUS | 30 | 77 | 58 | 77 | 75 | | | Mulubrhan | Henok | ERI | 23 | 66 | 68 | 64 | 61 | | | Silva | Nihal | SRI | 28 | 75 | 68 | 69 | 72
We're starting this preview with Bianchi - Panerai. They have one of the big favorites in their team with Sameera Chatarunga.
His return to CT was already marked with a win GP Herning and a podium in Geraardsbergen-Bosberg. Chatarunga is currently at n° 7 in the individual CT ranking.
| | | | | | | | | | BNZ-Superhero Racing | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Altanzul | Maani | MGL | 30 | 72 | 69 | 68 | 55 | | | Baterdene | Narankhuu | MGL | 27 | 74 | 61 | 72 | 67 | | | Batmunkh | Maral-Erdene | MGL | 28 | 73 | 65 | 72 | 73 | | | Erdenesuren | Munkhtulga | MGL | 30 | 72 | 62 | 72 | 75 | | | Kopfauf | Markus | AUT | 26 | 69 | 67 | 67 | 52 | | | Mudgway | Luke | NZL | 26 | 70 | 64 | 71 | 65 | | | Orue | German Anibal | PAR | 28 | 69 | 64 | 77 | 78 | | | Van den Berg | Lars | NED | 24 | 65 | 69 | 66 | 61
German Orue is the clear leader for BNZ-Superhero Racing. His allround qualities don't match the pure cobble rating.
His best result was a tenth place at Geraardsbergen-Bosberg. That should be his aim in this race as well.
| | | | | | | | | | Bralirwa - Stevens | PCT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Cobo | Ivan | ESP | 22 | 61 | 66 | 63 | 58 | | | Debesay | Yacob | ERI | 23 | 64 | 68 | 66 | 62 | | | Lauk | Karl Patrick | EST | 25 | 74 | 62 | 68 | 67 | | | Melki | Aziz | TUN | 23 | 69 | 68 | 68 | 60 | | | Mengoulas | Alex | GRE | 25 | 70 | 68 | 70 | 68 | | | Menicucci | Samuele | SMR | 25 | 69 | 69 | 71 | 70 | | | Okbamariam | Tesfom | ERI | 31 | 73 | 65 | 70 | 76 | | | Uhiriwe | Renus | RWA | 21 | 69 | 66 | 66 | 60
Tesfom Okbamariam leads Bralirwa-Stevens in this cobble classic. His best result was 29th in Gent-Wevelgem.
The support comes from a bunch of youngsters, all of them are 25 or under.
| | | | | | | | | | Caja Rural Cycling Team | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Adriamihajanarivo | Herizo | MAD | 32 | 68 | 72 | 68 | 59 | | | Azparren | Xabier Mikel | ESP | 23 | 65 | 63 | 65 | 60 | | | Declerq | Tim | BEL | 33 | 73 | 72 | 71 | 76 | | | Domene | Ramon | ESP | 32 | 73 | 57 | 73 | 76 | | | Garcia | Jhojan | COL | 24 | 67 | 68 | 70 | 55 | | | Govekar | Matevz | SLO | 22 | 69 | 70 | 68 | 58 | | | Guardini | Andrea | ITA | 33 | 71 | 63 | 72 | 59 | | | Sinkeldam | Ramon | NED | 33 | 73 | 74 | 72 | 76
Caja Rural are extremely succesful at the cobbles in their debut season. Ramon Domene was second in both Gent-Wevelgem and GP Herning.
The other Ramon (Sinkeldam) was second in Geraardsbergen. On British soil they will rely again on Sinkeldam, together with Tim Declerq.
| | | | | | | | | | Colombini-Adler AP | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Bonello | Daniel | MLT | 22 | 68 | 66 | 68 | 67 | | | Giulietti | Luigi | SMR | 23 | 69 | 68 | 69 | 69 | | | Gonzales | Andre Alexander | PER | 24 | 66 | 70 | 68 | 61 | | | Lampaert | Yves | BEL | 31 | 75 | 66 | 74 | 78 | | | Martino | Stan | SMR | 22 | 67 | 64 | 69 | 67 | | | Sprenger | Felix | LIE | 23 | 70 | 66 | 71 | 65 | | | Vliegen | Loic | BEL | 29 | 71 | 77 | 76 | 68 | | | Waerenskjold | Soren | NOR | 22 | 68 | 65 | 71 | 66
After Caja Rural we find another succesful debut team in Colombini-Adler. They are currently third in the CT rankings and the best newcomer.
Yves Lampaert is the captain for this race, as he wants to build on his outings in Geraardsbergen (9th) and Herning (6th).
| | | | | | | | | | Crabbe-CC Chevigny | PCT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Ariesen | Tim | NED | 28 | 75 | 68 | 74 | 75 | | | Barbosa | Diogo | POR | 22 | 64 | 62 | 64 | 58 | | | Bonneu | Kamiel | BEL | 23 | 68 | 70 | 72 | 62 | | | Daumont | Paul | BUR | 23 | 66 | 66 | 67 | 62 | | | Hagen | Carl Fredrik | NOR | 31 | 68 | 75 | 74 | 65 | | | Kielich | Timo | BEL | 23 | 68 | 66 | 65 | 64 | | | Pluto | Martins | LAT | 24 | 67 | 67 | 66 | 61 | | | Van Den Bossche | Fabio | BEL | 22 | 68 | 68 | 63 | 68
Tim Ariesen ended third in Lincoln last year. He will sign for a result like that, giving the stacked starting list.
The other teammates are no where near the standard of last year, so top-10 would be a success for the Dutchman.
| | | | | | | | | | Eddie Stobart | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Dahlberg | Linus | SWD | 35 | 65 | 60 | 64 | 63 | | | Drapac | Damion | AUS | 34 | 68 | 50 | 65 | 61 | | | Joeaar | Gert | EST | 35 | 64 | 65 | 62 | 50 | | | Lovik | Asmund Romstad | NOR | 33 | 70 | 71 | 70 | 59 | | | Malacarne | Davide | ITA | 35 | 61 | 67 | 63 | 62 | | | Medvedev | Dmitri | RUS | 35 | 58 | 58 | 56 | 60 | | | Savini | Daniel | ITA | 25 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 59 | | | Taillefour | Fabien | FRA | 34 | 75 | 55 | 67 | 76
Fabien Taillefour is by far the best option for Eddie Stobart in this race.
Although he is lacking hill qualities to really perform. Maybe from a breakaway?
| | | | | | | | | | Le Creuset | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Berlin | Antoine | MCO | 33 | 69 | 72 | 75 | 55 | | | Bidard | Francois | FRA | 30 | 69 | 70 | 67 | 60 | | | Garibian | Arman | MOL | 22 | 67 | 66 | 67 | 55 | | | Gogl | Michael | AUT | 29 | 69 | 76 | 74 | 57 | | | Louvel | Matis | FRA | 23 | 71 | 69 | 68 | 69 | | | McEvoy | Jonathan | GBR | 33 | 69 | 75 | 74 | 64 | | | Nzeke | Geremie | CMR | 32 | 67 | 76 | 72 | 63 | | | Thiery | Cyrile | SWI | 32 | 72 | 74 | 73 | 60
Like Eddie Stobart here before, Le Creuset doesn't have a competitor at first glance.
Matis Louvel could opt for a breakaway like in Geraardsbergen, where he ended 20th eventually.
| | | | | | | | | | Minions - Subwoolfer | PCT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Coppel | Jerome | FRA | 36 | 70 | 69 | 68 | 50 | | | De Witte | Mathias | BEL | 29 | 74 | 68 | 75 | 75 | | | English | Felix | IRL | 30 | 78 | 64 | 74 | 63 | | | Hailemichael | Mulu | ETH | 23 | 60 | 66 | 64 | 58 | | | Marcos | Leandro | CUB | 31 | 74 | 73 | 71 | 74 | | | Rosas | Laureano | ARG | 32 | 72 | 65 | 72 | 51 | | | Stöckli | Jan | SWI | 22 | 64 | 68 | 68 | 61 | | | Sweeck | Laurens | BEL | 29 | 73 | 68 | 71 | 76
PCT team Minions - Subwoolfer had a great depth in both CT cobble classics that they rode.
Leandro Marcos, Laurens Sweeck and Mathias De Witte finished both times within the top 15.
| | | | | | | | | | Pas Normal Studios - Mikkeller | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Johansen | Julius | DEN | 23 | 69 | 67 | 67 | 62 | | | Kristoff | Alexander | NOR | 35 | 69 | 62 | 66 | 72 | | | Matthews | Michael | AUS | 32 | 76 | 65 | 72 | 66 | | | Price-Pejtersen | Johan | DEN | 23 | 68 | 61 | 66 | 60 | | | Taubel | Christoph | AUT | 31 | 73 | 65 | 69 | 78 | | | Vanmarcke | Sep | BEL | 34 | 73 | 63 | 72 | 77 | | | Vogt | Mario | GER | 30 | 73 | 80 | 78 | 58
Sep Vanmarcke and Christoph Taubel rode here last year, finishing 5th and 8th respectively. This year Pas Normal Studios is counting again on this duo, but the competition looks stronger on paper.
They had a good preparation coming over to GB, finishing top 15 in both Gent-Wevelgem and GP Herning.
| | | | | | | | | | Podium Ambition | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Bridges | Jyme | ANT | 33 | 73 | 71 | 70 | 70 | | | Cole | Tyler | TRI | 23 | 70 | 68 | 66 | 66 | | | Kelly | Jacob | BAR | 23 | 67 | 68 | 67 | 67 | | | Major | Jay | BAH | 27 | 74 | 66 | 74 | 70 | | | Matthews | Darren | BAR | 31 | 72 | 66 | 70 | 75 | | | Perez | Cristian | CUB | 23 | 69 | 65 | 70 | 69 | | | Redy | Dylan | MRI | 23 | 68 | 69 | 67 | 65 | | | White | Connor | BER | 23 | 70 | 68 | 67 | 63
Darren Matthews should be the man for Podium Ambition. His performances in Geraardsbergen (14th) and GP Herning (17th) are decent so far.
The support includes Bridges, Major and 5 youngsters at the age of 23.
| | | | | | | | | | Staffbase - BHP | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Bauhaus | Phil | GER | 28 | 74 | 61 | 71 | 67 | | | Boeckmans | Kris | BEL | 35 | 69 | 64 | 68 | 70 | | | Hollmann | Juri | GER | 23 | 68 | 65 | 66 | 68 | | | Jans | Roy | BEL | 32 | 76 | 74 | 74 | 68 | | | Lipowitz | Florian | GER | 22 | 62 | 68 | 63 | 58 | | | Schachmann | Maximillian | GER | 30 | 66 | 75 | 74 | 58 | | | Van Dijke | Tim | NED | 22 | 70 | 69 | 68 | 66 | | | Vermeersch | Gianni | BEL | 30 | 77 | 70 | 74 | 75
Staffbase-BHP is counting on Gianni Vermeersch to score here. The Belgian is looking to replicate his Geraardsbergen performance, where he was 7th.
Schachmann and Jans are good support on the hills, but lack the necessary cobble qualities.
| | | | | | | | | | Tafjord Kraft | CT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Blikra | Havard | NOR | 31 | 69 | 75 | 72 | 52 | | | Breen | Vegard | NOR | 32 | 77 | 70 | 72 | 78 | | | Bugge | Vegard Robinson | NOR | 33 | 68 | 74 | 71 | 67 | | | Dyrnes | Kristian | NOR | 30 | 68 | 78 | 73 | 54 | | | Hagen | Edvald Boasson | NOR | 35 | 73 | 81 | 75 | 51 | | | Hoem | Bjorn Tore | NOR | 31 | 67 | 72 | 74 | 53 | | | Kaislavuo | Jesse | FIN | 29 | 73 | 70 | 73 | 73 | | | Weiss | Martin | AUT | 31 | 70 | 76 | 75 | 59
Tafjord Kraft is mainly supporting on Vegard Breen so far, scoring 189 of the 289 total team points.
This race will be no different. Breen is a favourite for this race, after finish 4th in Geraardsbergen and 5th in Gent-Wevelgem.
| | | | | | | | | | Trans Looney Tunes | PCT |
Last name | First name | Country | Age | FL | HL | ST | CB | | | Abraha | Tesfay | ERI | 32 | 72 | 64 | 70 | 75 | | | Centrone | Ivan | LUX | 27 | 74 | 71 | 72 | 76 | | | Doull | Owain | GBR | 29 | 72 | 65 | 71 | 71 | | | Ghyselinck | Jan | BEL | 34 | 72 | 66 | 72 | 59 | | | Henao Montoya | Sergio Luis | COL | 35 | 66 | 67 | 69 | 50 | | | Novikov | Nikita | RUS | 33 | 68 | 71 | 72 | 55 | | | Schlechter | Pit | LUX | 32 | 74 | 72 | 71 | 75 | | | Vanhoucke | Harm | BEL | 25 | 70 | 71 | 69 | 63
Trans Looney Tunes is coming over with a duo from Luxembourg: Pit Schlechter and Ivan Centrone.
Both should be able to compete for a top 10/15 spot.

Always feels weird not racing Lincoln GP one of the more fun parcours to follow. Going to be interesting to see how the race pans out this considering that pretty much no rider from last year's top 10 is here.

Matthews! Delivers T3A's first racing podium of the season off the back of a smart move. Excellent work from the Barbadian, and hopefully he can turn this into confidence, into some more podiums.

Very good from De Witte, not so good from Sweeck. He needs to learn when not to attack.
Thanks for the report AbhishekLFC and congrats tobias.

We have 7,8 and 14 finishes. Not ideal but reasonable performance by Hnik. Chatarunga and Manakov |

3rd and 5th might be the best team result in a long time for us.
However, we had hoped for a win here, which could probably have happened hadn't it been for the break.
Congrats for the excellent win tobias and also to our caribbean friends for that great achievement!
Thank you Abhi, really entertaining report! |
