Today we go to the capital ! 233 long – but easy – kilometers await our brave riders, and mainly the sprinters, who’ll try to make their presence worth it in one of the few flat stage of the week.

But before we take interest in cycling, let’s have a look to the route. The departure city, Torun, was founded by the Teutonic Order and was a member of the Hanseatic League thanks to its port on the Vistule. Its medieval center is a part of UNESCO world’s heritage and one of Poland’s seven wonders.
Warsaw, where the stage will be judged, has been the capital city of Poland since 1596. With 1,8 millions inhabitants, it’s the most populated city in Poland, and the 8th of the European Union. A big part of the city was destroyed during the 2nd world war.

Still very important goals though.

After nearly 20 kilometers, we finally have a break of 6 riders. Others tried to go out, but pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2022/Micros/kmm.png Moazemi and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2022/Micros/afr.png Van Heerden control the peloton very well.

We fast forward to Plock for the first and only KoM sprint of the day. We still are following the Vistule river. Plock is one of the most ancient city of Poland, already known in the pagan times. It was destroyed at multiple times, mostly because of the wars with Sweden. In the 2nd world war, the city saw 1/3 of its population wiped out by the Nazis.
130 km to go, and only two riders in the break already have KoM points: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2022/Micros/cdb.png Asgreen (5th, 8 points), and
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2022/Micros/brs.png Mengoulas (9th, 6 points). No wonder pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2022/Micros/tlt.png Bystrom (28 points) didn’t bother to go with the break.

The gap is up to 4 minutes.

Now you can go back to sleep for the next 38 kilometers: we will then be in Kamion. And sorry, I don’t have anything to say about this city, except that its name is very close to the french name for truck. I truly hope you all will be illuminated with this information.

And you better be, because I’ve nothing more interesting to tell: with 3 km to go till the sprint, nothing much as changed: there are 97 km to go till the finish line, the same teams are chasing and the leaders are working together.
And not even sprinting! Same story in Kopytow, except we don’t even have anything to say about this less than 300 inhabitants village. The peloton begins to chase now, with even the points leader pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2022/Micros/afr.png Main working. With 30 km to go, the gap is 1’40. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2022/Micros/aab.png Faglum Karlsson is near the front – he doesn’t want to be caught in an unlikely split.

With 20 km to go, Warsaw’s in sight. Here the rider will make some loops in the Polish capital before the final sprint.
