Very simple really. See the above Poll and give it a vote!
I've very much enjoyed bringing more of the MLB to the site, albeit i'm not super happy with some of my writing. But that's mostly down to way too many games etc in a baseball season, plus my Mariners can't stop winning. (Mariners story will continue to be posted, i've already played through three more years there)
So i got thinking, could i find a way to bring more NFL to the site?
And also, "man, i miss the Daily Destroyers"!.
Solution: Attempt a Daily Destroyers style set-up with Madden!
We'll get you Daily folks to take on the position of joint-Owners, joint-Coaches and Players. Assisting in trade choices, roster cuts, scouting, player development, and building out some fun interactions and role-play
With only ~20 games per season it'll be much easier for me to give good game write-ups, and we should be able to roll through a season or several reasonably quickly.
If you like the idea, vote yes. If you're not sure, but think it could be of interest, vote yes. If you don't think so, but maybe after i've proved i can finish a season, vote yes. Once i see if there is enough interest to make it work (minimum ~5-7, ideally 10+) then i will put up some more votes on the set-up decisions and details.
NB: I did already message Nemolito and check he's ok with another DD style game being set-up.

Can I roleplay a real football player who accidently signed up for an NFL team and has no clue how this game works?

Calling it HandEgg will be acceptable - you most definitely don't need any actual knowledge of the NFL to join in (because i'm well aware most people here don't know it).

Currently at 7, which is where i wanted to be for a minimum of interest. So this is a little bump, plus a statement i'll start putting together the next set of votes to decide the specifics of the game 
If you are interested in taking part, you can drop me a PM or leave a reply with your own suggestions and ideas.
First couple of votes will be (no need to vote in replies, there will be actual polls!);
Fantasy Draft vs Standard League (Fantasy Draft, as it sounds really. Every team re-drafts their squad from all available players - so we could see Rodgers at the Bengals, Brady in LA, Jefferson for the Saints, Donald as a Jet etc. Standard League, as it sounds, real world 2022/23 NFL league - In both cases the Daily players will slot onto out team to replace others)
Which Team we take (Want to be immediate contenders in Buffalo? The complete rebuild of the Texans? Take the Commanders and turn into not a total joke?) - and this in turn will lead to other decisions in due course such as relocation options, coaching etc etc.

Atlanta Falcons - They've never recovered from 28-3, and are entering a rebuilding phase. Can new owners and players take them, finally, to the title?
Detroit Lions - A city on hard times, a team that's a long way from being relevant. Want to bring life to Motor City, and win their first ever Superbowl?
Green Bay Packers - Title Town! A team already with a majority fan ownership would welcome yet more cooperative owners, provided we can win a lot.
Houston Texans - The worst team currently in the league? Tear it down, go from scratch as the ultimate underdog to winners story.
Jacksonville Jaguars - They have at least one home game in London every year, could we move the whole team to Europe and really globalise the sport?
New England Patriots - The post-Brady era has been bumpy. But could new owners and new players turn the antagonists into worldwide favourites?
Seattle Seahawks - Personal vanity vote  But the 12's are the best fans in the league and would love a bigger focus.
Washington Commanders - Very much up-for-sale! Very much up for relocation! We could really make this into our very own team.
Other - If you particularly want one of the other teams, you can vote and get it added for consideration.
NB: I've decided to go with standard rosters over a Fantasy Draft, it's just easy, quicker and better. So which team we pick, we get those players to fill. Our created-players will replace some of those on the selected team, lets just say the existing player is retiring due to injury (a la Luke Kuechly or Andrew Luck)

If end up with the Commanders I hope we can assume Snyder is gone. Him being a terrible human being is quite enough reason but on top of that he has taken a great franchise with an awesome fan base and destroyed it.

We are buying out whoever the current owner is and taking control. So Snyder would be gone (Kraft too, also a horrible human being), far far away, to Jail.
We will get to completely be our own owners, clear of any previous regimes controversies. Getting to fix many of them in fact.

Voted for the Texans, as I tend to play with them on Madden. Would be cool with any team that sucks - Lions and Commanders especially. |
