Hello everyone..
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to switch to a certain team during a career. The idea is that I wanted to follow the career of one particular rider as he moves up the ranks from the lower levels of cycling to the elite ranks.. kinda like "Be A Pro" mode in the fifa games.
So i would create a newcomer rider who joins a lower level team and would participate in a certain role for that team(such as a team mate). As this rider improves and gains experience over the seasons he might receive an offer to join another team(possibly in a more important role). Is it possible to switch managerial positions to that said team as to follow the particular rider? I have looked around with Hannes editor but i dont see a way of taking over a certain team that i want when i want. Is this at all possible?
I think a mode similiar to "Be A Pro" would be great in the future pcm games.. including being able to select the best contract offered by teams and controlling one particular rider as opposed to a entire team. Also having a role given to you by your manager and following instructions with consequences would be awesome.. becoming a "team leader" someday through hard work would be a great feeling of satisfaction.
Cyanide make it happen |

I didn't really get around to read your post, but seeing the thread title, I think this is the answer: https://pcmdaily.c...ad_id=4046 |

Whats up everyone?
This is truly a shot in the dark...
Is there any possibility at all of having the Ai control riders on the player managed team in a 3d race.. much like it does for all other computer controlled teams during a race. Similar to the way the time trial works with the option of controlling the rider directly.
The idea would be to have just one rider controllable by the player.. the rest of the "team mates" could make decisions for themselves. This could make for a great addition for pcm..
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. |

but then it wouldn't be pro-cycling manager, just pro cyclist. and i think it would get boring pretty fast cause you can't go on the attack every stage so for most races you'd just be sitting in the bunch for the whole race doing nothing.
cycling is a team sport and if none of your team know what your going to do then they won't be riding for you, it'll just be you on your own. for eg how will you be led out if you have no control over the rest of the team? how do you control the peleton if your in the lead if you don't have control of the team? how do you chase breaks if you don't have control of the team?
it's a good idea in principle but i just don't think it'll work. |

All im saying is it would nice to follow the career of one particular rider.. and have to make decisions for yourself(dependent on your role in that team) as opposed to an entire team along with the consequences that come with following or not following orders.
Its more about the whole career going from a lowly team mate on a pro continental team(following orders from your manager) to an absolute leader on a pro tour team.. and being able to control team mates and make decisions as your role increases within a team.. along with your skill stats and so on.
kinda like a cycling RPG lol
all the "boring" races can simply be simulated.. or increase the passage of time to quickly fly through an insignificant race.
What might be boring to you might be an experience to others.
with my background in cycling.. at least for me this would be a great way to play.. the simulation of a pro cycling career(which i was never able to pursue).
So yes.. similar to the modes in fifa and nhl(thats how ive always played those game anyway).
Back to the original AI question.. i was asking if this is somehow possible for my own personal use. I wasnt asking Cyanide to make a special mode just for me. A cycling "rpg" is only a pipedream.. for me anyway.
thanks for the comments fellas..
