Hi just reading the manual trying to work out how to use the training screen. I have seen the various programmes you can set and you can set custom ones but carnt you just set training to a % like in previous versions.
I'm wanting to get riders ready for Tour Down Under, Tour Qator, Paris-Nice etc but I carnt get their form up quick enough,
Maybe i'm missing something so simple here |

It's impossible to peak that early. And why would you want to? |

Some smaller teams will have Tour Down Under as a goal. Plus doing good in that race may open up opportunities for wild cards later in the spring. |

Sorry not peak just be in good fitness, so how does the training work? Can the level of training only be adjusted by selecting/changing a programme as I ony see programmes for classics/giro/tour/vuelta |

Well, keep in mind that the other teams' riders aren't in good condition either. You could use a training camp to get them in form quickly, but other than that, you can't really do much. |

When adjusting the individual training regime of a rider, if they are a climber, but show more room for improvement in time trial, is it beneficial to adjust them to this or not ? Will it affect their climbing ? How quickly does it have any affect ? Regards Jaywol. |

How to use the training schedules:
1. Normal: You use an existing plan, which fits your goals.
2. Personal: You create and use a plan, which fits your goals.
3. Old-school: You create 6 plans, all consisting of one level (level 3 and up need some "lower" levels in the first weeks to fit the rules). Now you can apply different levels as you would have done with the % in PCM07.
Jacknic: You are wrong. Good results in Cya-Top-Tour won't get you points for the Conti-Tour. And based on them you get wild cards later.
As for the Tour Down Under:
Create a personal plan, which starts with 2x level 2, 2x level 3 and then all level 4 (would correspond to the earlier described old-school plan level 4). Apply this plan on 1st of January to all the riders who you want to participate in that Tour. At the same moment, look at the fitness of these riders and plan two preparation training camps. 10 days for all the riders below 40, 5 days for all riders below 50. Have the longer start at the 11th of January and the other 5 days later. Apply normal preparation training tactics (going from weak to strong and finish with 1 or 2 weak days to boost morale).
Why two training camps?
To save money.
Why shouldn't both start at the same time?
You cannot tell them appart in the mails you get. By starting early with the weaker riders you can apply same training intensity to both camps. And because both end at the same day you have no problems applying the "morale training intensity". |

If you select no specific training regime all abilities will (should) grow at the same speed (as long as the potential isn't used up, of course). If you select one, this specific ability will grow faster then the others. But no ability will be reduced.
About the speed of the improvements. As far as I know it is not related to the remaining improvement potential but to some other factors (some might affect duration between jumps and some might affect amount of improvement):
- youth skill of the manager (not sure about the exact name, the lowest)
- potential of the rider (visible/editable in the DB with the editor)
- a "hidden" develepment progression (examples: normal progression / slow but with explosion in the later years / fast and slowing down later / unexpected explosion during career. Randomly applied at start of career and therefore only visible in career.) |
