Hi there. I was wondering if anyone had some good advice on how to track your riders' proggression through the seasons. And how to optimize the training of particularly tyhe younger riders.
In 07 it was pretty straight forward. You put your guys in the right race categories and they would develop. I have a hard time figuring out how to properly train my talents. Also they seem to be progressing very slowly, and they always seem to have the best potential in the skills that they won't need.
A talented climber will always have more potential in the cobble skill than the climbing, or is it just me? I know that this has something to do with the fact that his cobbleskill is much lower than his climbing, but shouldn't I expect that a climber would be good at and become better at climbing?
How do you guys develop your talents? I really would like some advice as I find it to be one of the more interesting aspects of the game. Especially as I am currently playing as Euskaltel. I need to be able to develop some Basque talents quickly as Sanchez, Astarloza and Zubeldia are getting old fast. |

I usually find that people complaining of slow progression have given "themselves" a low youth development stat. That's what has the biggest effect. Other than that, I can only think of good trainers and nothing else.
And if you'll be using only basques at Euskaltel you have my respect

I'll be trying. But it's hard to know which of the current riders have some kind of Basque heritage.
I have 10 in youth developement or training youngsters or what it's called. The problem is not only slow progression, but also tracing the improvements. I have tried with before and after screenshots, but it seems like a lot of work. Maybe just me being lazy |

I don't know if I like the PCM 08 youth development. I have youth training on 9, i have have all mythical trainers. Each trainer is only trainer 5 or six guys so they maintain an excellent rating and my riders have multiple stars remaining.
I am in year two of my career with Garmin, Farrar and Sutton have not gained one point in their Sprint attribute. Not one point in TWO YEARS. There are other riders, some young and some in their mid-twenties, that have not developed as well. The one bright spot is that Christian Meier jumped to 80 MO and 78 TT in one year. A bit unrealistic (and frustrating). |

I guess the only way of tracking it is taking a screenshot of your team's attributes every month and comparing. Thats the way I'd do it.

Again, this is probably due to the fact that there's different ways of progression. Some talents progress linear (small improvements from year to year), others progress early (boost in their early years, then no progress later on), and some progress late (no progress the first years, then great boost 'late'. |

I was afraid you were going to say that CrueTrue. It is too bad that I have a team full of late bloomers. |

Well, it's editable, so if you're interested, I can try making some sort of guide to change it. |

Well, I didn't try it out yet, but I'm pretty sure that you can change it. You find the different kinds of progression in STA_cyclists_lists_progression.
You can then assign the progression levels in DYN_cyclist
--> fkIDcyclist_lists_progression . I'm pretty sure that this only works in a save game and can't be done in a DB. |

Yeah, that's what I gathered from another thread here. The problem is when I open a savegame in the Advanced Editor, I don't see any values in that column in Dyn_cyclist. It's all zeroes. Shouldn't there be a value "attached" to each rider if it were to work? |
