A pretty open field here! Kozhatayev is the top climber, but Gidich and Lutsenko should be considered favorites as well.

The field is still almost entirely intact at the foot of the final ascent, when Natarov decides to go for it. Kozhatayev, Gidich and Lutsenko are the first in the line of chasers.
A group of 10 pros, including all team leaders minus Ulysbayev, have broken free as a result of that attack. It’s now Gidich who pushes the pace.
Despite the high pace, everyone is still hanging on. Now, with 2 kilometers to go, Lutsenko goes for it!
Final kilometer and still no one has been able to separate themselves from the group. Y. Nepomnyachsniy comes to the front now.
But as the sprint starts, it’s Lutsenko who pulls away with a devastating acceleration. Only Gidich seems to be in range to maybe still stop him.
Lutsenko celebrates very early, just as Luchshenko comes from behind with decent speed. But surely, the man in green got this?
He gets in the saddle again to make sure, but yes, Lutsenko is the national champion of Kazakhstan! Gidich hangs on for second place, Kozhatayev actually in third in the end.

Kochetkov is the top favorite.
Kozhatayev sets a good early time at 1h06’09.
Then Gidich comes along and beats that by a good 1’24.
And then comes quite the surprise: No that Y. Nepomnyachsniy would beat Gidich, but that he’s actually faster than Kochetkov at both checkpoints - but just 12 seconds at the second one. Can the favorite strike back?
He cannot! Another missed opportunity for BWT as the title goes to Nepomnyachsniy!
