On the final flat stretch, Bevin has a gap to Smith, who himself has around 15 seconds to a group of 4 consisting of McCormick, Vink, Bennett and David. The peloton is a further 45 seconds behind.
Smith has caught up to Bevin and they have 13 seconds on their chasers as they enter the final climb.
It’s a one v one for the title!
And Bevin takes it! A great win for him and Conti team BNZ.

New Zealand Championships - ITT
Atkins and Sergent are the top favorites, but on a good day they could be challenged by some of the other solid time trialists in the field.
Archbold seems to be the strongest among the challengers, he beats Atkins at the checkpoints …
… and at the finish line, too, but as you can see, Sergent is doing very well, almost catching up to Atkins at the line, and he takes the title comfortably.
