Giro dell'Emilia - Report


It's the final day of the 2021 season and we are here in Bologna for the Giro dell'Emilia. In 190.1km time, we will have the answer to the outstanding questions in the PCT division. A year of racing can be flipped on its head today as the battle for relegation from the PCT is far from decided.

We're in the hills in the 2nd half of the race and gaps start to form in the Peloton. It appears that the top leaders have all made the cut.

The gap slowly comes down as it is 2'16 now with 80km to go.

We're through the finish line for the first time with 58.5km to go. The leading group of 11 has a gap of 2'01.

The Peloton make an early catch of the breakaway with 30km to go off the back of an acceleration from pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2021/Micros/ubs.png Ponzi.

He is unable to get away as the Sauber team set a ferocious pace at the front which reduces the Peloton to only 43 riders.

20km remaining in this season and we have a leading group of 66 who will contest the win. They still have 1 climb before the finale.
