The peloton heads to Switzerland for the final race of the CT season with the C2HC Zuri – Metzgete. The riders will take off from Zurich for an undulating 232km journey of which the victor will close out the season for the peloton. There’s not much left to play for rankings wise, so hopefully we see some exciting racing as the riders will more or less have no burden of pressure. The parcours tend to favour the puncheurs, and as such they are the favourites here:
Name | HIL | MTN | STA | RES | ACC | Eiking | 80 | 69 | 78 | 74 | 76 | Boswell | 80 | 71 | 77 | 73 | 76 | Vogt | 80 | 62 | 78 | 71 | 63 | Meyer | 79 | 69 | 74 | 71 | 77 | Edmondson | 79 | 69 | 75 | 72 | 76 | Bystrom | 79 | 68 | 75 | 72 | 76 | Chaves | 79 | 76 | 74 | 73 | 72 | Juul-Jensen | 78 | 70 | 76 | 74 | 79 | Paez | 77 | 72 | 74 | 70 | 76 | Calmejane | 77 | 71 | 73 | 76 | 76 | Le Roux | 77 | 66 | 74 | 71 | 72 | Lilovski | 77 | 67 | 70 | 70 | 73 | Mudarra | 77 | 68 | 74 | 70 | 68 | Paulus | 77 | 74 | 71 | 68 | 71 | Skjerping | 77 | 70 | 71 | 67 | 65 |
Topping the list are the usual suspects Eiking
and Boswell. Both fantastic puncheurs and have both brought a decent level of success for their respective teams this season. They will both be looking to get one over the other to end the season on a high. Eiking currently leads Boswell in the individual rankings by a slim margin, and a win here for Boswell could propel him past Eiking and into the rankings top-10.
We have a former winner returning in Edmondson who loves to ride in Switzerland, finishing 4th here last season and winning the one before. His team bring Le Roux to aid his efforts and should have high hopes for him.
Vogt is listed highly due to his pure hill ability, but his team are almost definitely here for Juul-Jensen. JJ probably hasn’t had as much success this season as he would have liked, and would surely like to make amends here.
Meyer is another rider who doesn’t mind the Swiss climate. He has finished 3rd and 6th in the previous two editions of the
race and will be looking to take the top spot on the podium this time.
Trans are here with a double-pronged attack with both Calmejane and Bystrom. Calmejane has had a great season and his combination with Bystrom has helped Trans finish the year in the automatic promotion spots.
Chaves is another rider who has failed to stamp his authority on the CT this season despite his ability. He is a terrific rider and will be hoping for a good result to prove his worth to the team.
Paez will be hoping a small group comes to the finish together so he can make use of his quick finish. Lilovski, Robov and Ludvigsson will be hoping their numbers mean they can etch out a good result to end their season. Paulus
and his Tafjord clan of puncheurs will be hoping the same.
---
Favilli, Kreder and McEvoy are also to be considered favourites if the race isn’t ridden too hard, as their ability to finish fast will make them hard to beat.

Not a race that has any importance to us, some depth scoring would be nice tho! Thanks for the preview.

Thanks, what a great report to read. Nice teamplay by our guys, especially nice to see Kreder on such a good day in a race that suits him so well. Bonus points to Molard for being such a great teammate. Cool to cap off the season with a classic win.

Thanks for the report. Loved Boswell going back for bottles, I think it was his way of telling team management to get him some actual help next year, because the horde of stagiaires we gave him aren't even good enough to get bottles.
Well Ian, get over it, we are a stage racing team, your salary is all the investment in the hilly classics we intend to make.
Not a great race for us but not a lot to ride for and not selective enough.
Looking forward to next season.

That was a nightmare of a season - it started with the highest of expectations, only to end up with being hit by a freight train. Oh well, at least it ended on a high note with 6th, 15th and 20th by Robov, Barta (who defeated his "archnemesis" McNulty again) and Ludvigsson.
It was a really neat report and congrats to Strava for the win

Very enjoyable report Eden, I thought the recap box at the end was a really nice touch!
Congrats to Strava, strong finish! I'm also happy for sutty to end the season on a high note with Meyer in second place.
