Since the Worlds are in Paris, the French national championships will take on the World championships course.
Road Race
Patrice Halgand was last years winner.
As soon as things got going, Moncoutie and Sprick went away
They worked together a little, but Moncoutie was soon pulling away
Moncoutie would have a peak advantage of 17 minutes over the peleton. The peleton thinned down to 30 riders, continually led by Credit Lyonnai's Lalouette and Gautier
54km to go, Paris in sight, last hill over. Moncoutie leads by 8 minutes, Sprick has been caught
10km later, the finish line, gap down to 6 and a half minute. Still some 44km to go.
But although closing on Moncoutie, the pack arent going particularly quick. Dumoulin, Vaugrenard, Mazet, Roux, Vogondy, Bouet, Aulas, Deroo, Gaudin, Maillet and Geslin have caught them up. Dumoulin and Vaugrenard has been yo-yoing off the back of the peleton for some time before being dropped - but the other 9 had at one stage trailed the peleton by over 5 minutes. Theyre all back into the frame now though
And one of them could win. No sooner was Moncoutie caught than he was dropped. Well done for trying though.
Not much happened on the Champs Elysses laps. Out of the tunnel, 4km to go - theres a heavy Wikipedia presence
Deroo leads Pineau with a few others behind them but Deroo doesnt sprint and slows his teammate and the rest as Sonnery leads another train
It seems only Sonnery, Dumoulin or Bouet can win the race now
Bouet fades as Dumoulin challenges Sonnery
But Blaise Sonnery is the new French champion!

Time Trial
Any one of 5 riders could win the time trial.
The first of those 5 was defending champion William Bonnet
Vaugrenard was 12 seconds slower than Bonnet
But Pierre Rolland took the lead by 7 seconds
Only 4th for Jerome Coppel, 37 seconds down
The last challenger is the last man to start: Maxime Bouet. But its only 3rd for him, 10 seconds behind Rolland - the new French TT champion!

Theoretically it should be in national events, he means. And i can't believe Moncoutie gave up a 6 minute lead with 10 k.

I guess my post wasnt clear enough:
He went from 8 minutes with 54km to go, to 6 and a half with 44km to go, and by 20km to go he had been caught and dropped. He was probably dead
