The final stage here in South Africa and it's a bit different from the previous 3 with the first 82km including a Cat 2, a Cat 3 and another climb but then it's pretty flat all the way to the finish. Some of the favourites may suffer a bit as the stage is almost 240km in length so it should be a good test of the stamina of those looking to take the Yellow Jersey today.
A breakaway of 5 manages to get away fairly early on.
Mundle
Hofland, Teunissen
Gladysh
Vangstad
Gladysh attacks the others early to win the KOM which is a big step towards taking the win in that classification.
Gladysh wins the 2nd KOM as well which wraps up the KOM for him. Gazelle with a poor strategy today which sees them 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The gap to the Peloton is 4'51 with 156km still to go.
The gap now 3'40 with 100km still to go. It's all pretty flat from here on out.
Gladysh continues his dominance in today's breakaway as he wins the first intermediate sprint of the day. The gap 2'57 with 64km to go.
Gladysh makes it 2 from 2 for the intermediate sprints. It's unlikely the breakaway will remain ahead for the final one 11km from the finish. Their gap is 2'03 with 42km to go.
20km now to go and the gap is down to 48 seconds. The Peloton could make the catch before the 3rd intermediate sprint in 10km time.
Gladysh managed to make it 3 from 3 at the intermediate sprints.
The Peloton leaves it a bit late but they do make the catch with 3.5km to go. A lot of Puma-SAP riders near the front with Huski Chocolate on the right and Binance through the middle.
1.7km to go and Demare still has 3 riders in front of him for support. The others are all here including Liu but excluding Manninen.
800m to go and Demare is in the lead with Enger on his left shoulder the closest to him. Grosu is on the right-hand side while Vesely, Halvorsen and Reinhardt are coming from behind.
500m and it's the same situation as Demare has the lead.
100m and Demare is rapidly losing speed as Enger looks the most likely to take it now!
Wow. It is too close to call on the line between Enger and Grosu who finished very quickly! We'll have to await confirmation of that one.
Vesely is 3rd ahead of Demare. Halvorsen is 5th.
Aberasturi is 6th ahead of Reinhardt. Bertilsson is 8th. Silva outsprints his leader Kennaugh for 9th. It's then Coquard, Liu, Degenkolb, Zabel and Manninen.
It's Grosu who wins the final stage here in South Africa!!
But Sondre Holst Enger did enough and is our winner of the SAA Tour d'Afrique! Demare is 2nd at only 2 seconds behind. Grosu propels himself up to 3rd. Liu and Manninen drop to 4th and 5th.
Enger also wins the Points classification by 1 point ahead of Demare.
Gladysh wins the King of the Mountains after dominating the final day in the breakaway. Disappointing tactics from Gazelle who end up 2nd, 3rd and 4th while Aker-MOT are 5th and 6th.
