The first proper road stage starts in Veenendaal and is relatively flat through to the finish in Nijmegen. The risk lies in the final 20km with the riders making two ascents of the short but sharp Oude Holleweg.
The breakaway not yet established but the early Cat 3 KOM is won by Bolor-Erdene ahead of Kaislavuo and Fenn.
It takes a while but, with just under 100km to go, we have our breakaway of 6. They have a gap of 2'39 back to the Peloton.
De Gendt
Anderberg
Marcos
Stocek
Fenn
Skala
Stocek wins the first intermediate sprint of the day.
Skala only just wins a very hotly contested KOM. 80km to go and the gap is 2'22.
Anderberg wins the 2nd intermediate sprint. With 44km to go, their gap is 2'01.
21km to go as De Gendt leads them through the Oude Holleweg KOM for the first time. Anderberg is barely keeping with him. The Peloton is only 46 seconds back from the Zalgiris man.
The final intermediate sprint has seen the breakaway fully swept up as Guerao wins it ahead of Lander and Van Asbroeck. With 14.5km to the line, they may have been better advised to conserve their energy!
10km to the finish and we have a split which sees the Peloton hold onto 83 riders and 90 riders in the 2nd group on the road, including Yellow Jersey Dzervus.
4km to go and the sprinters are jostling for position as HelloFresh and Polar lead the Peloton of 76 riders.
2km now. Kump and Guerao are in the best positions with their domestique support up front. Boeckmans is next to them. Kalaba and Lander are here but have no support. Van Asbroeck has 2 support riders but needs them to power forward fast!
Under the kite and they've all started their sprints. Kump is the furthest forward of the leaders.
400m to go. It's neck and neck between Kump and Van Asbroeck. Boeckmans has the best chance of spoiling the party but Guerao and Kalaba are there too.
Van Asbroeck has the lead with 200m to go but it's close between these 4.
But Van Asbroeck holds on to win Stage 2 here in the Benelux!
Kump is 2nd ahead of Boeckmans and Kalaba.
Lander is the best of the rest in 5th.
There are gaps which will really hurt some riders who would have been expecting a good GC result. They'll have time to make-up during the next few days.
Burr Ho goes into the GC lead! Van Asbroeck moves into 3rd.
Van Asbroeck leads the Points.
Nych leads the KOM having won the final Cat 2 sprint.
Kalaba moves into the U25s lead.
Carrefour now the leading Team.
