I have already presented myself and now I will present my project. As I have already said, I am a cycling archivist. I have tried many times to start a project, but it never happened. Now I now that I have the ideal conditions for that and i started with it.
This forum is for all cycling community around the world. If it's needed, I will open a subfroum for other languages than english. It's in english only because it is an "universal" language and the ideal to communicate around the world.
This is only the first step to build an archive. As you know, build a cycling archive is a neverending work, but we can work by objectives. The first step is this: create a community to share material, results, stories, opinions. The nest step, obviously not for now, is to create a website with my archive. All people who collaborates with something will be CREDITED.
Now, I will present the structure of my forum:
In the General category we have:
- The place to give opinions about the forum, ideas to improve it, some complaints, etc; but also for the Administration Board or someone who asks for it to make an announcement;
- A chit chat place, to talk about everything (read the rules);
- A place to post all your cycling links you know, blogs, groups, ...
- The right place to introduce yourself;
- A subforum to talk about doping. It's bad to have it, but it exists, so we have to face the reality.
Next we have four sections:
- Road Racing
- Track Racing
- Off-Road
- Women Racing
All this categories are divided into present and past, in order to create some organizations through the topics. These forums are for discussions, opinions, comments about the races, results,...
The Pro Cycling Manager section intends to promote this game. Although it isn't possible to simulate what happened ever in the cycling world, this game gives a good feeling about a race, plan tactics, win a WC, ... Because it is a way to revive some past episodes or to "rebuild the past", I created this section. I hope with this also promote the developement of graphic updates, to give more realism, and the creation of accurate historical databases.
The photos section spaeks about itself, it's for all cycling photos you want to share. Please, indicate your source; the same for the videos.
In the videos section, I intend to share videos of past and present races. Please use sites like rapidshare, partage facile, pando, not Torrent or eMule. Thare are subforums for the different cycling categories.
The Cycling DB category is only for edited rider palmares and comments, edited results and reports and for articles that someone decides to post. Although we can discuss or complete the article, this subforum is not to discuss any opinion.
Finally, I opned a section for the Collectors where all people interested in coleccionism can show their collections, share material and ideas, complete their archives,...
