A long stage at 220km but it's even flatter than yesterday so it's another chance for the sprinters. Could we have a 3rd different GC leader after today? It would seem likely given the gaps between the first 5 riders.
No change in approach from the Peloton as only 2 riders in the breakaway again today. Omarsson keeps up the breakaway appearances for his team. He is joined today by Tesfom. Going to be a long ride with just the 2 of them and 200km still ahead of them.
100km to go and the gap appears to have peaked at 4'30.
Gaps certainly threatening as there appears to be quite a breeze blowing today. Nothing has stuck just yet though.
50km to go and Tesfom wins the intermediate sprint. He is on his own after earlier leaving behind Omarsson who has dropped back to the Peloton which means points to race for behind.
Contreras takes 2nd ahead of Scully.
The Peloton don't appear to be in much of a rush as 35km to go and the gap is 3'22 for Tesfom.
30km for the Peloton and there do appear to be gaps appearing which may stick. This is the view out the back of the 110 man Peloton at the groups behind.
20km for the Peloton and they are still 2'32 behind Tesfom. They're really going to have to pick up the pace.
10km for our lone leader and he still has a lead of 2'29 so this is looking like a walk in the park for him.
4km for the sprinters as there is almost no organization at the front. A real shocker from them today as they are going to be battling for 2nd.
A very surprising and rather strange stage win for Tesfom who is only 20 seconds behind in the GC so he's about to get himself a comfortable GC lead too.
1.8km for the Peloton and Houle has a team mate in front of him and then all of the other sprinters are on his wheel.
Only 2 riders seem particularly interested in the sprint and they are 2nd and 3rd on the line as Houle finishes ahead of Lo Cicero.
Van Poppel is 4th ahead of his and Houle's support riders. Not sure what I've just witnessed…
It appeared there were gaps throughout but race organisers have said that 2nd through to 174th all receive the same time…
It's a 2 minute GC lead for Tesfom but unfortunately for him and the Team he's unlikely to hold onto this one given the look of tomorrow's stage.
Houle leads the Points by 5.
Bobridge keeps the KOM lead.
Brkic still leads the U25s.
Project: Africa maintain their lead in the Teams.
