Welcome to the 9th edition of the Monterrey team time-trial. This event moves down to C2HC and thus becomes a mandatory race for CT teams. With a length of 47.3 km having as many competent riders against the clock as possible should be an advantage. You can't afford to carry too many passengers over that distance. Also the course is far from flat. In addition to the roughly 2 km climb in the middle, there is plenty of undulation throughout. Those meters of elevation add up, so climbing ability should prove very useful.
With that said let's look at some of the favourites:

Glanbia have focused on time-trials since their establishment and they come into this event as the on paper favourites. BWT is another strong outfit that will look to challenge for the top spot. Trans Looney Tunes also bring a good unit this time. They are the best collection of climbers and will try to make the best out of the hilly parts on the course. Gjensidige and BNZ are both solid. They might not win, but time-trials always sprint a surprise or two. A podium is definitely not out of the question. Finally we have Aramco who brought a very strong unit, but it's a unit of 6 riders only. They should work well together, but will their numbers deficit prevent them from scoring a top result?

Not sure Glanbia have ever been favourites so a bit afraid ...in previous years we underperformed here compared to predictions due to the hills.
I do think and hope our TT team are more all rounders this year and can handle the hilly bits. Good luck all.
Q: anybody know the points scale for this race now that it's c2h2 ?

One over-the-hill flat TT guy, 2 sprinters and 3 first year riders does not a TT team make. Hope they enjoy the ride.

Don't back my chances here with only 6 riders. Not too sure what I was thinking when I was doing the planning for this. Ah well, hopefully we can get some points out of it.

We are here for an official training session. The best time trialists on our squad went to Giro del Trentino where they did an excellent job so this race was not on our radar.

Well that's DISAPPOINTING!
I guess we were unlucky and that the climbs were still a bit steep. I didn't expect to win but definitely thought top 3.

This will definitely lift the team's spirit after relatively mediocre Trentino (though the TTT win was a prelude to Moterrey). And this is our third achieved goal in the season - all of our achieved goals are on C2HC races. Not bad TBH - 3 out of 5 goals.

To be honest I'm pretty happy with 4th there! It's disappointing on the basis that we could have been contesting the win if we had 8 riders but still a strong points scoring effort!

Well, I didn't send the best time trial team here, but then again we are in general not that great at TTT. So, I am satisfied with the middle of the pack we achieved in this race.
